Ombudsam Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I was taking momo for granted and just assumed he was super human but this game reminded me he is gonna get even better as he's sooooo young. He'll be unbelievable. Fair play to that zokora bloke anyway

Sion Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Zokora made a few good forward runs, don't let that con you into thinking he played better than our momo. Zokora made a few good forward runs, don't let that con you into thinking he played better than our momo.

Chili Palmer Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I'm not one to go with 'he plays for liverpool so he must be better...' and would give an honest opinion if I thought a player got the better of a Liverpool player but I honestly never thought Momo got bossed today.
Benitez Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) boss him? Strange title to the post that I have to say. Attention seeking mind Zokora was Spurs best player, but I wouldn't take that as a huge compliment. He certainly didn't boss anyone mind. Edited September 23, 2006 by Benitez
George Costanza Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I was impressed with Zokora. Quality player but no way did he 'boss Momo'. He did very well given the lack of support from his teammates but Momo was superb in the 2nd half. !st halfed we weren't at the races & spurs stifled us.
Maldini Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Zokora reminds me of Nigel Reo-Coker, similar type of player
surfaris Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 momo should have scored. weak/miscalculated shot infront of goals. shooting, shooting - that s his main weakness.
Ian Garro Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Zokora reminds me of Nigel Reo-Coker, similar type of playerSee what youre saying, but I reckon Reo-Coker is the better of the two -just.
hagi_complex Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 momo should have scored. weak/miscalculated shot infront of goals. shooting, shooting - that s his main weakness. Agreed. His passing has improved hugely over the last year, though there's still room for more improvement there. I expect the shooting to be next on the list. I predict he'll get one, and then settle into a 5 or 6 a season man. With a couple of them being netbusters. In general, he's been a revelation. He must be a nightmare to play against. Can you imagine Momo snapping at your heals every time you have the ball? He'd scare the sh*te outta me (and Ballack). Rafa's recent comments are very encouraging too - willing to learn and practice. An absolute steal at the money we paid for him. He's a freak of nature, in the best way possible. Even my manc mates rate him. Although some of these c*nts are trying to tell me that Carrick is a better player than Xabi, so their opinion carries no weight. Zokora is a good player, btw, but I've yet to see anyone boss Momo.
fyds Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I thought Momo was excellent on the whole today didn't get 'bossed' at all and did his share of 'bossing'.

kacangpool Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 zokora was excellent but bossing momo he didn't.
kop205 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Thought by his usual high standards Momo struggled a bit today, though I don't think it was because anyone bossed him - he just looked quite uncomfortable in possession at times, something which he has improved on a lot this season. Thought Zokora was pretty good for them, though not in the sense that he bossed Momo.
fred milne Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I actually thought Sissoko was pretty average yesterday. (In fact, he has been for a few games now.) However, Alonso is getting his game together and that's more important.

Thought he was good at the weekend and at Chelsea too.
Guest Lukan Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Momo is boss. Spurs defence was rotten to zokora.

However, Alonso is getting his game together and that's more important. How dare you ?! Momo is a monster and never plays at a " pretty average " level. You've been blackballed by the rose tinted crew.
CarraLegend Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 You've been blackballed by the rose tinted crew. And loved by the "Gerrard and Sissoko are overrated and never do anything good crew" I dont honestly know why you keep on with the obsession of bringing Sissoko and Gerrard down on here, you whinge on about the people who cant see any faults in them yet do the same yourself allbeit with the opposite of praise. Bizarre but there you go.
Ombudsam Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 I think Zokora got the better of sissoko throughout the game. the only reason i commented was because it is the first time i've seen a midfielder do that to him. It surprised me that's all. I think Zokora must be a hell of a player to do that as I haven't seen that much of him before.
Earl Hafler Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 And loved by the "Gerrard and Sissoko are overrated and never do anything good crew" I dont honestly know why you keep on with the obsession of bringing Sissoko and Gerrard down on here, you whinge on about the people who cant see any faults in them yet do the same yourself allbeit with the opposite of praise. Bizarre but there you go. Yet i do praise them. Have often spoke about Sissoko's potential etc but he's stepped into that bracket where some people refuse to see his faults or accept any negative criticism.Likewise i praise Gerrard but more often find myself trying to balance up the " hype " because of the amount of whitewash on here. Someone on here said the other day that Gerrard never lets us down. Lawrenson said that it doesn't matter where you play Gerrard as invariably he is the best player on the pitch. That sort of b******s is what we rip Charlie Nicholas apart for, isn't it ? Why there's a thread about an article from the Observer or something being so full of s***.
CarraLegend Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Likewise i praise Gerrard but more often find myself trying to balance up the " hype " because of the amount of whitewash on here. Why do you need to "balance up the hype"? Are you Rafa Benitez or something? Look at your posts from yesterday On Garcia: Gerrard would be receiving MOTM nominations. Nice little dig there I know Kuyt had to stretch for the ball but the pass from Garcia could not have been played any better. That and the control he showed against Newcastle are examples of why he's in the team. He'll continue to frustrate me but he's a little genius at times.................................................. How the **** can Sissoko get a 9 ?................................................... Aye, but just like Gerrard ( or Xabi when he first arrived ), Momo is going through a stage where some fans refuse to see his bad points................................................................ Barely any comments on the win apart from saying what a goal from Riise. Just seems a bit of a bizarre agenda to push especially after we've just beaten a very good team 3-0. Why does it matter to you so much that they both get a lot of praise? Theres plenty of people who discuss theres strengths and weaknesses often so I dont see any need to "balance up the hype", that just sounds a lazy excuse.
Earl Hafler Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Why do you feel the need to argue with me ? Because you disagree and it's a forum. Would be boring as feck if any negative criticism were censored. I don't like the whitewashing that goes on. It builds players up to be something they're not or can never sustain and then look what happens - Baros and Diouf have received similar praise only to become castaways as people want to fall in line with the manager or just realise they're not that good. Sissoko is a good player and an exciting prospect but he's still very " raw ", in my opinion, and makes plenty of errors. However, his effort is what catches people's eye but there are elements of the Baros / Gerrard indiscipline about it. The effort can make his performances look spectacular but it's not always beneficial to the team. If Momo doesn't progress as planned, what happens to the monster then ? And what's wrong with this " I know Kuyt had to stretch for the ball but the pass from Garcia could not have been played any better. That and the control he showed against Newcastle are examples of why he's in the team. He'll continue to frustrate me but he's a little genius at times. " ?
