LOL! He knows nothing about football! :bleh:

Can't believe Rafa agrees with my SuperFan-esque opinion.

RAFA - WE DESERVED MORE

Lee Brown 17 September 2006

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez reflected on Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and declared, "we deserved more".

The Reds went down to Dider Drogba's only goal of the game, but they created a number of chances to equalize after the sending off of Michael Ballack.

Benitez said, "I think we deserved more from the game. In the first half we created clear chances through Kuyt and Gerrard, but one player won the game for Chelsea with a fantastic goal.

"We started the second half creating more chances and getting into good positions. The push on Gerrard by Lampard was a clear penalty, but we cannot change these things now."

Rafa though was still able to look at the positives through the disappointment of defeat and he said, "We are improving and if we keep playing like this we will score goals.

"It's clear that we need more points, but it's only the beginning of the season and it's a long race. We need to get going."

BTW that could be said to be agreeing with my 'Fans being realistic and honest' opinion

We deserved nothing more than what we got because our final ball wasn't good enough and we missed good chances.

Any team that does that against Chelsea will probably lose, so we didn't deserve anything. Sounds hard, but games like that today when we were given the chance to attack Chelsea after Ballack went off, you have to take advantage of or you can forget winning the league.

As gutted I am, I also feel that we can only blame ourselves for not getting anything out of the match. Don't think we'll get a better chance to get 3 points at Stamford Bridge than today. The game was there to be taken and we couldn't score a single goal. No way, did we deserve anything.

Totally agree

Just got back from it and can't believe we got nothing.

I have never seen us dominate Chelsea like that in recent years away from home, it was so one sided it was ridiculous.

We all knew that by not taking our chances (at least 6 of them clear) we would get beat.

Only ourselves to blame, some poor finishing, especially by SG & DK. Both guilty of opting for power over accuracy

I love Rafa's post match interviews. The guy was trying to bait him about the penalty, but he didn't bite. He exudes class and should be a lesson to all other managers on how to conduct oneself immediately after a defeat, when he must be feeling really s**t but puts a brave face on things and says all the right things. Good on ya Rafa.

Is right that. We did OK today, but didn't take the initiative force the issue with enough class and guile today.
