Benitez Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 (edited) Crewe v Huddersfield are on now (SS2) - Danny O'Donnell is playing for Crewe. Followed by: Scotland v Faroe Islands, at 3pm on Sky Sports 2 (I know, I can hardly wait either) England v Andorra, at 5pm (BBC1 I pressume) then Wales v Czech Republic on at 7pm (Sky Sports 2) Edited September 2, 2006 by Benitez
Gunga Din Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 i think the norn iron game is on at 3 on BBC NI, sky channel 992. should be a better game than Scotland against the Faroes
Fenderbaum Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Watching Football Focus. What is Crooks like?!
Benitez Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 ah yes so it is, on at 3pm. Northern Ireland v Iceland It's a tough choice
Gunga Din Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 ah yes so it is, on at 3pm. Northern Ireland v Iceland It's a tough choice they should beat Iceland. they beat Tesco last week, and they are much better than Iceland
Benitez Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 clashes with the Wales game then though.. hmmm.. decisions, decisions.. aye, know what yer mean I'm Welsh, and I still can't pick, hehe. I'll probably watch the start of the Wales game, see how our Craig gets on. And the Czech's can be quite good to watch at times an' all. Damn choices! I'll have to chuck the remote out again.
_00_deathscar Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 BBC 3 Nice to see Defoe FINALLY score a goal. According to the commentators he's a "natural goalscorer"...yea 2 in 23 games really backs that statement up. Whereas for all the flak Crouchie gets, 10 in 13 now is it?
Benitez Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 I like that idea but I was thinking: when would they play these pre qualifier games? play 'em now, or even play 'em right the start of the season - when they had them first lot of pre season friendlies. It'd mean the 'actual' qualifiers wouldn't have to start till later, cos there would be less teams, and less games.
John am Rhein Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 play 'em now, or even play 'em right the start of the season - when they had them first lot of pre season friendlies. It'd mean the 'actual' qualifiers wouldn't have to start till later, cos there would be less teams, and less games. Yeah, and that would be another bonus - no international sh*te in the autumn. What I think they may do, however, is have some kind of 'lower division' of countries from which the top 1 or 2 teams get to play in the top level in the next tournament and the 1 or 2 worst teams correspondingly get relegated. I think the tennis Davis cup works a bit like that (?) I'm not as keen on that idea though because it would mean teams playing in a 'competition' they have no route to actually winning - although to all intents and purposes they have no chance of winning it anyway.
Guest TanMan Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Lampard has offered nothing, as usual. Yep, he's been attrocious. Especially considering how much cover he gets with Hargreaves along side. The onlt other alternative would be to drop him, put Gerrard back in the middle and play Lennon on the right but that's not going to happen. It would be a weaker midfield IMO as well.
_00_deathscar Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Hargreaves with a cracking strike from 30 yards, but hits the post. Why is Downing being substituted? And Phil Neville? Take off the GOOD players FFS!
Jim D Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 All McClaren needs to do now is drop Lampard and move Gerrard in the centre. Lennon on the right.

owenthomas Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 does anyone have Crouch's stats for England compared to the other strikers such as Owen, Rooney, Defoe etc?..
Guest TanMan Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 does anyone have Crouch's stats for England compared to the other strikers such as Owen, Rooney, Defoe etc?.. In the last 10 games his record beats the lot, hands down. That's all that count in my book
owenthomas Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 yeah, i knew that would be the case but i was just curious..
_00_deathscar Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 In the last 10 games his record beats the lot, hands down. That's all that count in my book Inclusive of this game, I believe it's 10 in his last 10.
Barnesy_10 Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Lampard is a f***ing c***....he's a bottler who doesn't tackle, doesn't track back and can't cross a ball for s***... w*****...the reason Gerrards where he is is because he is so much more versatile than Lampard who is actually s*** in the position he is best at.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 69 mins A bit of controversy: England played on while one of the Andorra players, Sanchez, was down injured, and Sivera's response was to kick Kieran Richardson up in the air. He gets booked; Richardson, distressingly, is unhurt.
McBain Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 It was pleasing to see that despite the oppo being Andorra, Phil Neville was still dogshyte
