New York Red Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Ibrahimovic and Crespo newly signed. Could we put in a cheeky bid for Adriano or Martins?
Guest Makaveli Smith Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I wouldnt want Adriano, not that we could afford him anyway. I think he's a talented player but also massively inconsistent and I just don't like his attitude. As for Martins well he is a talented guy too .. havent seen much of him in the last season or 2 though so I'm not sure how he's developing.
Nebraska Red Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 saw Martins a few times last year. I don't think he is a Rafa type player, doesn't seem to want to give 100% all the time.
Dule Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 If that is the case, then Adriano would not be Rafa's type of player either. The f***** is almost worse than Ronaldo when it comes to running without the bal!!
Saintslfc13 Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 While I agree about Adriano's attitude, I think he would perfect for this team. He is like Crouch with all the goods added to it, strong, quick feet, good in the air, and pretty fast for his size surely he's faster than Crouch? The only thing is sometimes he looks a little one-footed to me, but such is the case for most left footed players it seems. Look at the upside though, Speedy and Pennant crossing to someone who actually wants to shoot the ball and can hit a header with some power on it, thats one of my problems with Crouch is sometimes he looks as though he doesnt know what to do with the ball when its at his feet in the 6 yd box, and his "great heading" is more like a bunch of little flicks that rarely have enough power to beat the keeper. Adriano might be a little more selfish but in a team of pretty much team players one selfish foward can't be too bad in the right situation can it? Of course he'd most likely be way too expensive, and you're probably right about him not being Rafa's type of player, however if anyone can turn his attitude around it would be Rafa wouldn't it? I say put in a bid for him, and see what Inter does with it. Besides he's my leading scorer on WE 9
Guest DandyW Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Ibrahimovic and Crespo newly signed. Could we put in a cheeky bid for Adriano or Martins? -Julio Cruz could have been the man. Looks like a Rafa type of striker. But all strikers, midfielders, defenders and also keepers in Inter are way better strikers than Crouch so I would be happy if we just buy a Inter player, no matter who, to play instead of Crouch.

Guest DandyW Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Put that fishing rod down, you won't get a bite here. -Well, they are tired of me all other places so I had to try. For my mental health it is pretty important that I can tell the world how incredible useless Peter Crouch is at least 3-4 times a day, or I gonna explode.
Benitez Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 do us all a favour and go for the exploding option.
Guest DandyW Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 do us all a favour and go for the exploding option. Why don't stick to the "no bite" option? Me exploding want do Liverpool any good, but there is a tiny tiny chance that my mocking of Peter Crouch would make him leave in tears and that will surely make Liverpool better. So here I go.
Benitez Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 narr, I can assure you the exploding option is your best bet. You are too much of a kid to actually do a wind up well

I'd say there's probably more chance of you leaving in tears in all honesty...

Broken record. I, and many others, feel the 'Ignore User's Posts' option calling. Seriously, just give it up. The thread has f*** all to do with Crouch other than in an a roundabout way and your comments have contributed nothing whatsoever, as usual. Back on topic, I don't rate either Adriano or Martins.

Leo No.8 Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 -My answer to the topic was Julio Cruz, who actually fits Rafas bill. Which neither Adriano or Martins do. Funny you should say that as Crouch fitted Rafa's bill as well. He was his number one target last summer.
Guest DandyW Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Funny you should say that as Crouch fitted Rafa's bill as well. He was his number one target last summer. -Is this funny or strange? I pick a Inter player after what I think would fit Rafa's plan. I can also see that Crouch fit Rafa's bill, but he is not near as good a footballer as Cruz. And not as good as Rafa believed.

And if you'd left your post at that, nobody would have had a problem with it. It was the juvenile b******s that you added to it with which people have taken issue.
genghis Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 (edited) Meanwhile, back at the topic... out of interest, Martins handed in a tranfer request yesterday (or the day before)... so he wouldn't be expensive (well not as expensive as if he was uninterested in leaving). Dunno if we want another lightning quick finisher a la Bellamy, when what we need is a target man, even though Martins is top-notch. Edited August 11, 2006 by genghis

I also have no problem with people who don't share my opinions about Crouch or other things, it is refreshing and sometimes educating. But in here.... you follow the stream or you are a s***head. And please, I can absolutely see that there will be no loss for you if you throw me out, and I can also see that the natural respond to this is to tell me to f*** of if I can't cope with it.

I can also see that Crouch fit Rafa's bill, but he is not near as good a footballer as Cruz. And not as good as Rafa believed. Cruz has a good goalscoring record down the years, but he's over 30 now. He's a good player I'm not going to argue with that, but you could make the point without unfair criticism of Crouch who proved himself a valuable member of our squad last season. To say he's 'not a good footballer' is just plain wrong, he is. Regarding Martins, I'd probably prefer him to Defoe who we are still being linked with. Not dissimilar players...

I also have no problem with people who don't share my opinions about Crouch or other things, it is refreshing and sometimes educating. But in here.... you follow the stream or you are a s***head. you are neither refreshing or educating though are you. Problem isn't your opinion, it's how you go about 'discussing' it, with your childish comments, and refusal to actually get drawn into sensible discussion. Maybe if you actually tried to discuss Crouch sensibly, you'd be surprised how insightful it could be. There are plenty of people here who don't rate certain players, yet they don't feel the need to try the 'you follow the stream or you are a s***head' argument do they? Maybe the reason you go down that route is because you know you will struggle to hold your own in a discussion and to back up your views when it comes to discussing Peter Crouch.
