I was somewhere between Istanbul and Frankfurt, then had an hour in an airport bar drinking even more. Got home at 11pm only to unpack, repack and f*** off to Athens the following evening.

They didn't have a clue what was going on.

 

I also remember having to do charades to the woman to explain that this fella had just nipped outside for a smoke and had left his girlfriend inside on her own.

 

I went through all kinds, from the imaginary hands outlining a womans figure, to having a smoke. But it worked and she let him in

It was madness, we're lucky to not still be there, our plane was a farce, they let hundreds of lads through without boarding passes etc and all the Irish lads were trying to get on any plane back to Dublin, they had to throw a load of people off our flight, this was at about 12 pm the next day.

 

Never seen a place run as badly as that.

And to think 10,000 Italians got the proper airport. It was just as bad in Dortmund - did you go there ?

Dortmund was awful - 7 hours on the side of the road outside the airport stuck in a coach with no food or drink. Shocking treatment.
