Guest Assassin Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Whats the your thoughts on him, a workman like striker who could do a good job for us. Do you think Rafa will join in and equal the current bids, I wouldnt be surprised if he does.
Greenoak Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 No way He wants to go to Everton. Let him stew in their bitterness Wont take long before they call him bald c*** etc etc
Swipe Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 He had his chance to joing a big club when he had some "heat" and the likes of us and Arsenal were reportedly interested. Happens so often. In fact he'll team up with James Beattie next season - someone who can tell him all about it! Off to a mickey mouse club he goes!
jimmylibel Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I think if we were going to join the fray we'd have been mentioned already.
Guest Assassin Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I think if we were going to join the fray we'd have been mentioned already. Just like Momo?
jimmylibel Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Just like Momo? Not really the same. The Momo transfer involved a foreign club and it was very much only speculation for a long time. When that speculation became concrete, we stepped in. This one has been all over the news for a week and has been confirmed by the selling club.

I hear yer, but Rafa didnt step in for Momo until a fee was agreed and deal was almost done, but I guess that was the only way Rafa could have done business with Valencia at that time
Knox_Harrington Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Sadly no. He'll be confirmed as a Blue in tomorrow's Echo I suspect.
forde Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Sadly no. He'll be confirmed as a Blue in tomorrow's Echo I suspect.Yep should be done on tuesday! A good player but a touch overpriced.
Stevie H Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Sadly no. He'll be confirmed as a Blue in tomorrow's Echo I suspect. where are they getting the money from? their european run?
Knox_Harrington Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 where are they getting the money from? their european run?In anticipation of new TV money I suspect. This will be his entire kitty bar sales I think. But I also think he'll sell Arteta or Cahill as they will never work together in a 4-4-2 which is surely what he'll play with Beattie and Johnson. Both are saleable assets. Cahill can't play in a flat four full stop and Arteta certainly can't with Cahill.
Maldini Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 They're also saving £2m+ a year now "Big Dunc" is off the wage bill

Knox_Harrington Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 can't see them selling arteta, so yeah, maybe cahill will be in the world cup shop window.A lot of Blues are sick of Cahill. If he doesn't score he doesn't offer much. However they had so few goals in them for the last two seasons he had to be perservered with. Johnson coming in may really change that. Can't see a natural home for Cahill though. Maybe someone like Boro?

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 where are they getting the money from? their european run?aye & the DVD sales, t-shirts etc
McBain Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 They're also saving £2m+ a year now "Big Dunc" is off the wage bill The bar bill has dropped 800% as well
Guest JV Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 He's taking his time with the move. Just sign on there dotted line lad
CarraLegend Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 We do tend to downgrade Cahill a fair bit cos he's bluenose sh**house though! I dont reckon we do mate, I think Arteta is class and would happily have him here. I think Cahill is horrific though as a footballer, he gets the odd goal and fair play but other than that he cant pass, cant tackle, seems to get booked every game and from what ive seen can't play 4 4 2 as he doesnt have the qualites. Most blues I know always say they'd snap anyones hand off for £5m.
stressederic Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Apparently one of the clauses in Johnson's contract insists that the club provide him with the special sunglasses that people wear during a solar eclipse. Andy's concerned that the long periods of time he'll spend staring directly into the sky, may well permanently damage his sight.
