Up until 9 months ago I'd'have said neither of those. Right now I'm struggling to believe any other possibility, and it's'a coin toss between these two. They've cut costs quickly and deeply at both their big sports teams, and seemingly aren't in much of a hurry to reinvest any of the money they've saved/generated. There are only so many times you can say 'let's'see what they do in the next window'.

Because there are plenty of teams like Stoke City, who have no interest in taking the ball off you, just stopping you getting anywhere near their goal. At times you have to be a little more incisive, even direct, against these teams, or at least move the ball much more quickly.

The only thing I can think of in defence of the club in this (again assuming there's truth in DJ'S claims), is that they are better placed than us to judge whether this parody account was spreading sensitive info that only club insider's should know. If they noted some inside info was posted by him on twitter before any other media source released it, and in an instance where they assumed the info to be secure, then you can imagine a point where they'd be concerned. The spotlight only really comes on Chang if you take all of Jenkins' blog post at face value, and given the contradiction's I'm struggling to do that.

Not defending Chang, and if it's true he's surely finished. I just find the lad lacking in credibility, think he's being a little economical with his version of events, that's all.

I don't suppose you've heard anything about Frank Mccourt's situation NYR ? I think he could be the guy to keep an eye on here, I just can't glean any info from the web that shows whether he actually trousered any of the cash from the Dodgers sale, or whether it's all disappeared clearing debts, divorce settlement etc. I guess he could still be embroiled in all that, but wouldn't be surprised if he was looking to head back to Boston, and make another move on the Red Sox. Maybe he wants his old house back too

It's probably this bit that's caused the issue though , and it contradicts his intial claim in the blog about just guessing or retweeting. He might be well advised to just stop talking about it to be honest, and the blog post was probably ill advised too. Not sure what he wanted to achieve there really, as it certainly paints the club in a poor light.

Odd to me that this DJ fella publishes this blog yesterday, I'll give you that. Almost like it's meant to cause the club as much embarrassment as possible on a day we'll be in the news. Would love to know what the real agenda is behind all of this.

I just found it odd that Chang would choose a particular broadsheet journo to make contact through, it makes no sense at all. The email exchange regarding contact numbers makes no sense either, suggests that DJ and JC had been in contact by phone previously, as JC has his number, and DJ is not in the least surprised. This all being prior to JC revealing the 'detective stuff'. However much I'd like to take the word of 'a good normal lad' over a 'suit', there are too many oddities in that blog account.
