  1. Why no Samba? I know Nelsen is injured but why is he doubtful.
  2. Member of the Abu Dhabi royal family so I think we can rule that one out.
  3. It's debatable whether surgery is the best course of action. Personally I had problems in the past with a sports hernia(Gilmore's Groin as it is commonly know as). I had both sides operated on but it failed to completely clear up. Speaking to a surgeon recently he told me how now he and a lot of his colleagues prefer an approach when treatment and the building up of core muscles around the groin area is seen as a better approach.
  4. Surprised to see him back at anfield, has he not being out on loan at a couple of lower league teams and nothing came of it?
  5. It's pretty inflamatory some of the stuff Purslow has said. There'll be serious repurcussions for him as I can't see Gillet and Hicks taking kindly to what he has said. I can't understand Purslow being so naive if his main concern is protecting his own position. Hopefully it's a tactic where RBS want this out in the open in order to force through a sale where if he doesn't get sacked it'll be because RBS won't allow it.
  6. Thought Amorebieta played well. I think in the summer lb, striker and a commanding central defender are the priorities. Someone who is dominant in the air and physically aggressive like the greek but pace. Amorebieta fits the bill there, if he played for another team in England we'd probably comsider him an ale house player but he's very good and exactly what we need. San Jose played well, he seems to be in the team any time I see them recently so that's good. But Bilboa were just defending very deep for most of the match and that suits him. Don't think he's good enough for us but isn't it a loan with an option to buy at something like €3m. It'd be great if we could put it towards Amorebieta or Kjaer, they'd be my choices in the summer.
  7. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/liverpool/article6985441.ece Tony Barrett saying Rafa will get the proceeds of a Babel sale, we might see another decent signing in Jan if that's the case.
  8. Good old Passarella, drop Redondo because he had long hair.
  9. Sky Sports are quoting Pandev saying he's delighted he has resolved his future and he plans to stay in Italy, we better start getting used to that Heskey limp
  10. Keirrison's agent was quoted as saying there's been no contact with Liverpool and if there was he wouldn't be getting game time at Liverpool anyway so it'd be unlikely.
  11. Ballague had the Torres deal pretty spot on in the weeks before it happened even down to the fee including Garcia and was he first with Benetiz coming here? Granted 2 out of 10,000 isn't a particularly good strike rate. Mata or Ashley Young would transform our attacking intent, I agree with those that are saying we need to strengthen our goal threat from other areas to compensate for the absence of Torress rather than a straight swap.
  12. Ignoring the united history but someone of RVN experience and age would be perfect, in 1 or 2 years time you'd hope some of our younger players will be coming through. I'm hopeful one of Nemeth, Pachecho, Eccleston or even LDV can make the breakthrough, so not having some expensive striker blocking their path is a good thing
  13. Been really impressed with him so far, really seems to have toughened up this year and was holding the ball up well but he was just very isolated. I just feel if either Torres is missing we're probably better off playing two upfront. Very few players can effectively play the lone striker role and tend to be of the caliber of Torres or Drogba, N'Gog looks a great prospect and he looks a Liverpool player when he plays but at this stage in his career I think it's a bit too much to ask him to play that role at this stage of his career.
  14. The problem with the Greek guy is he isn't good enough outside of being good in the air, I'm saying we need someone who is both
  15. I thought our most pressing concern for the January window was backup for Torres but as this season goes on it's becoming more apparent a dominant centrehalf is what we need, someone like Cahill or Kjaer, anyone that's dominant ion the air wold be an improvement
  16. After Fulham, we have Birmingham at home and then not another match until City on the 21st November, if it is a case of 2 weeks to recup he should make it for the city game. Get it done I'd say.
  17. One of the few plus points for me, he does seem to be able to hold it up well in fairness to him most of the service up to him were hopefull punts.
  18. I desperately want both gone but if it was the other way around and it was Hicks selling and Gillette staying Rafa might as well start packing his bags straight away.
  19. I think Pacheco will iltimately end up in midfied, he reminds me of Iniesta although nowhere near that level at this stage. Strangely although he had a fantastic goal scoring record at youth level, he hasn't scored many at reserve level.
