  1. Jan's gone off on one; Jan Molby Blames 'Sulking' Steven Gerrard For Liverpool Woes http://www.goal.com/...ven-gerrard-for Liverpool legend Jan Molby has launched a scathing attack on the club's underperforming stars, stating that big-name players, such as Steven Gerrard and new signing Alberto Aquilani, need to step up their game if the Reds are to achieve the top-four Premier League finish promised by their manager Rafael Benitez. Speaking through the Liverpool Supporters Club New York and their MP Red podcast, the Dane - who made nearly 500 appearances for the club between 1984 and 1996 - asked questions over skipper Gerrard's form, accusing the 29-year-old of "sulking" during the Reds' tumultuous start to the season. "Gerrard has not been 100 per cent this season with his injury," said Molby. "And it begs the question: 'what are we looking to achieve with him?' "Yes he has been restricted by his injury, but to me it seems he has also had a bit of a sulk on this season. He looks heavy legged, there isn't really that spring in his step this season so far and the team has suffered." Yet despite Gerrard's lack-of-form this term, and mischievous reports linking him away from Liverpool, Molby believes that the 29-year-old will remain a Red for the rest of his career. "Steven Gerrard is a Liverpool player, there is nowhere else for him to play," he added. "I'm not sure what it would mean for him to lift the [Premier League] title with another club. He wants to win the title with Liverpool but, if not, I have a feeling he could live without it."
  2. Stan Collymore's end of year awards http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/columnists/stan-collymore/Stan-Collymore-s-end-of-years-awards-Liverpool-boss-Rafa-Benitez-look-away-now-article269235.html He has got us down as the worst team of (the whole of 2009), Rafa as the worst manager of the year but says we will finish fourth. Masterful.
  3. "Here's Ryan Babel.....He wants to stay at Liverpool."
  4. About 84 should do it. So we can afford to lose one more.
  5. Spanish newspaper AS claims this morning that Maxi Rodriguez is desperate for a move to Liverpool and would take a pay cut to join the Premier League side. http://www.imscouting.com/global-news-article/Maxi-Rodriguez-willing-to-take-a-pay-cut-to-join-Liverpool/4689/
  6. Berbatov is probably the biggest waste of money in the history of the game. Excellent stuff.
  7. Skrtel was a f***ing shambles all game. Darby thought the ball had gone out. Should have reacted quicker when it didn't.
  8. End of. He tried to shield the ball out and f***ed it up.
  9. He is s*** and a complete waste of money or excellent and the best thing since sliced bread.
  10. I am beginning to think the 'confidence' factor is a bit of a red herring now.
  11. Yes, the best example of this would probably be Makalele in his heyday at Madrid. I actually felt sorry for Lucas today. It's not his fault that there is s*** all around him and he is doing what he can. You have to remember also that this role has really been forced upon him because he is a naturally attacking midfielder. Thankfully though the Lucas scapegoating days look like they are coming to an end.
  12. And play both Insua and Aurelio at centre back. They both do the collective left back position so well I am sure they would do and equally good job in the centre.
  13. But you know you have problems when such a player is the most impressive in the side.
  14. After we scored we started playing some half decent stuff and I was impressed heads did not go down after going one down. What the hell happened at half time? Arsenal match all over again in terms of second half performance.
  15. Lucas (by a mile) Reina Torres No one else showed up. Really pathetic.
  16. This sounded interesting and typical o him; Stan Collymore prefers to look the other way http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2010/01/02/blood-red-stan-collymore-prefers-to-look-the-other-way-100252-25507540/ MIGHTY in print, meek in the flesh; Stan Collymore might be cultivating his outspoken pundit image but he didn’t exactly rise to the occasion earlier this week. Collymore was at Villa Park for the game between two of his former clubs and, having been such an outspoken critic of the Rafa Benitez regime, you might have expected him to at least speak to the Liverpool manager on Tuesday night. Not so. He walked in to the press conference room at the same time as Benitez after the game but, upon realising this, Collymore stopped, looked surprised to the point of embarrassed, turned on his heels and started whistling as he left. Wonder whether he’ll give that a mention the next time he puts down his thoughts?
  17. He is boss of Aston Villa. Ban me for that if you will.
  18. He won't come here, not that good. Still think he has quality as a manager. Even before the game he knew we could do him and tried to get his side ready. You could tell that from his quotes. He has to arrest a slide now and if he has to tell his players they are better than they are then fair play to him. They have been punching above their weight and he wants it to continue.
  19. He is boss though. I rate him. He's probably already thinking of their next game and will use that interview to lift his players. He knows what happened to side last year about this time and definitely understands what happened today.
  20. Probably less of the bemused and more of the 'go f*** yourself you f***ing no marks' good to see though.
  21. What a complete load of b******s this thread is. The answer is simple. It’s because of me. For the last two games I have grown a goatee in support of our beleaguered manager. It’s obviously done the trick because we are not only unbeaten but also have not been breached since the growth of this dodgy facial hair. It’s not going anywhere either.
  22. It was a honest punt!
  23. Lucas Reina Insua (Still can't believe the stick this lad gets)
  24. Didn't happen.
