Maybe. Personally I don't think it will (as opposed to can) get any worse.
-
The pressure is off now. Sky et all will look really daft if they refer to any more of our games as 'must win'.
-
It did yesterday.

He got this bit right though; ARSENE WENGER believes Liverpool’s miserable campaign will soon pick up. I believe Liverpool are a good side and when they get their confidence back they can beat anyone in the league,” the Gunners’ boss said. “With Gerrard and Torres back fit and Aquilani starting to play, many teams will drop points here. “In the first half they were very impressive but at the moment Liverpool don’t have the confidence they had last year. “It’s difficult to play for 90 minutes at the pace they played in the first half. And because they didn’t score the second goal there was doubt in their minds at half-time. The game wasn’t won. They played a pace above us in the first half and won all the 50-50s. To only be 1-0 down at half-time was a good score for us. We got lucky with our first goal but after that we controlled the game. “The fear was in Liverpool’s camp in the second half.” http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-f...00252-25383514/

Pictures mislead but look at face on this picture; http://www.goal.com/en/news/8/main/2009/12...l-is-not-enough Gut wrenching. in a different time and under different circumstances this man would have put us back where we belong.

It's inexplicable. The only possible explanation is that the core of the players want Rafa out. Remember Barnes and Co and their performances before Souness got the boot culminating with that performance away to Bristol City?
-
Can anyone suggest any alternative sports? Clean answers only please.

Don't agree with your wishes but yes, the 'Leeds' scenario grows stronger by the day. Rafa going would exacerbate it. It's a threadbare tenure at best. Not sure if Rafa's mantra or if he means it. I'm clinging to the belief he is a true red.

Smacks too much of desperation tainting a legend's status for me. f*** me is this really what we have now become?
-
Second time around.
-
Why does the name Howard Kendall seem relevant to me here for some reason?
-
Is a point that now has to be looked at. My point is with our situation we would only be downgrading. If you were the dogs b******s managerial wise, would you come here?
-
Been thinking on this recently. Asking him to step up would be unfair.
-
And? What then? Who comes in? In our scenario only Klinsmann and Souness are takers.
-
So they will come over already a beaten side? i'll have that. Plus Martinez is Rafa's mate isn't he? Just think if we can stuff someone anyone) it will do the brittle confidence wonders.

The one, tiny crumb of anything positive I can think of on this day of total devastation is that we have a game on Wednesday. Is it too much to expect the players to swarm all over wigan and give them a battering they will never forget?

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas revealed a furious tirade by Arsene Wenger at half-time inspired the Gunners to come from behind and condemn Liverpool to a 2-1 defeat at Anfield. The Spaniard said: "The boss screamed. I've never seen him like that before. "He was really disappointed in the first half and said we didn't deserve to wear the Arsenal shirt if we played like that. "And I think he was right. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Arsen...icle256133.html Wonder what what said in our dressing room at half time?

Well if something's got to give, let it happen. This can't go on.
-
He's lost the players?
-
Oh yes. I still can't believe that just happened.

He's at it again! Stan Collymore: Why Steven Gerrard must quit Liverpool FC FORMER Liverpool FC striker Stan Collymore is calling on Steven Gerrard to leave Anfield "in search of the Premier League". Collymore believes the Reds ace will never win the ultimate goal while with Liverpool and he says many players in the current squad are not good enough to play alongside Gerrard. "It's time for Steven Gerrard to put his loyalty to Liverpool to one side and go in search of the one honour that has eluded him - the Premier League," he writes in his latest column for MirrorFootball.co.uk. "He's not going to see that day while he's wearing a red shirt and as sad as it is for me to say this as a former Liverpool player, I think it is time for him to leave Anfield. "I was at Blackburn on Saturday and players like Lucas, Rieira and Kuyt don't deserve to play with him to be honest." Collymore thinks Gerrard has more chance of winning a domestic title with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter Milan. He said: "I've seen him lift the European Cup and I'd love to see him lift the Premier League trophy, but it won't be as a Rafa Benitez player and I'm not sure it will ever happen for him as a Liverpool player. "I'm not saying this to try and wind up Liverpool fans. I just think it would be a tragedy if after seeing inferior players to him like Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick win the title, he didn't. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverp...00252-25335328/

Dumb Football: Is Stan Collymore a Sky Sports robot controlled by Jamie Redknapp? http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/fail/8424/d...e-redknapp.html Collymore’s Wikipedia entry lists him as a ‘retired footballer’. Shouldn’t that be ‘********* footballer’? Stan the Man penned a quite incredible treatise in the Mirror yesterday, expounding the Stan Collymore Formula For a Brighter, More Entertaining Premier League – cause, you know, as a league it’s really struggling right now (zoinks!). Here are a few choice quotes from what ranks as one of the most ill-conceived pieces of sensationalist ‘journalism’ (zoinks!) I’ve ever read: Stan says: “I would actually like to see the Premier League comprised solely of the 20-25 clubs who have been the biggest and most successful sides in modern history.” Pies says: How very forward-thinking of you, Stan. Quick, shut the door before Stoke and Hull get in… s***, too late. * * * * * Stan says: “And there would be no promotion or relegation which would allow those teams to grow.” Pies says: To grow – yeah, at the expense of all other teams, who would be forced to look in, freezing faces pressed against the window of Stan’s cosy shop. This isn’t the NFL, with established franchises and a college system – football clubs need the carrot/stick of promotion/relegation to fuel ambition. * * * * * Stan says: “Fans around the world want to see the huge games – not clashes involving clubs like Barnsley, Watford or Hull.” Pies says (in Chandler Bing voice): Could you be any more patronising? OK, you have a point about Hull. Still, I’m starting to think now that Stan is actually a robot made by Sky Sports and controlled from a glass booth inside Stamford Bridge by Jamie Redknapp. “This is a huge game, Richard, huge.” * * * * * Stan says: “My main grievance is the reason why the likes of Wigan, Hull and Reading have got into the Premier League. For the most part it is due to wealthy benefactors who have bought into them because they are cheap investments.” Pies says: And what about the way in which the big Prem clubs use their power and wealth to maintian an oligarchical regime? You can only make money from the lucrative Champions League if, er, you’re in the Champions League – that money allows you to balance your books/buy better players than other clubs, which … keeps you in the lucrative Champions League. Vicious circle alert. Never mind that Wigan and co. got into the Prem by playing better football than their rivals in the Championship. * * * * * Stan says: “Most people with the of greatest respect do not tune in to watch Wigan against Hull – they tune in to watch Liverpool versus Chelsea.” Pies says: Yeah, he’s definitely a Sky Sports robot controlled by Jamie Redknapp. What do you make of Stan’s guff? Do you think he has a point, even a teensy-weensy point? Or is he just a dumb Brummie with a penchant for dogging?
