Buying Carroll would be a vanity purchase for Newcastle. Midfield was clearly a concern. Last year, when Lucas was injured, we were left with Adam and Spearing getting far, far too much time. It needed to be addressed and has been. I don't want to sell Carroll, but if selling Carroll would allow us to bring in Huntelaar then I'd probably go for it. If it allowed us to bring in Huntelaar and Dempsey, I'd drive him off myself. You could get three years a piece out of both them whilst you look for someone "younger" to buy either next summer or the following. I will also hit the roof if we sell Agger at this point. It's essential he stays for the summer to be positive.
