  1. As in pass-pass-pass was getting us nowhere and it took a long ball i.e. a compromise of the pass-pass-pass principle to get us the goal. Passing the ball around midfield is fine, but we're going nowhere with it when we do and the move tends to end up with someone, usually Gerrard, getting impatient, trying to force something and us losing the ball.
  2. Ultimately if Enrique hadn't whacked the ball up to Suarez today we'd probably have lost the game. The pass-pass-pass is getting us nowhere because it ultimately comes down to Suarez doing something magical to create a chance. I respect the idea of having a system and principles of play, but ultimately it's not working with the players we have and results aren't good enough for the calibre of players available. The spine probably isn't too far away from being top four with Reina/Agger/Skrtel/Lucas/Allen/Gerrard/Suarez (Lucas when fit, obviously). Johnson isn't s***, Sterling's able to beat his man. I mean, two league wins from ten and not looking remotely like winning games on a week-by-week basis is a huge concern. The "bigger picture" here is that you have to wonder how long Suarez is going to be content carrying the attack and keeping us in what effectively amounts to mid-table.
  3. I can't help but feel that Suarez is helping to paper over some cracks in the team here. We're not winning games and Suarez is carrying pretty the entire attacking threat himself. I know it's transition, but we've won two league games all season and don't look like winning. I don't think results have been good enough thus far. NB: This is not a dig at anyone, merely a concern.
  4. This is it. He's f***ing useless going forward, but you can accept that if he's defensively rock solid. He's not, as evidenced by the second goal last week. He offers little and should go.
  5. Has lost the plot and needs to be moved on in January.
  6. Very disappointed.
  7. Agreed. Past the point of caring now, he needs to stand in front of a TV with a video of all the decisions that haven't gone for us and ask them whether they're utterly incompetent or just corrupt. Take the ban that comes, no matter how long, but it's ruining our season and we have to go nuclear.
  8. If that's Gerrard scoring that, the goal stands. I'm convinced of that much.
  9. I actually feel ill with anger. I'm not sure why I f***ing bother sometimes.
  10. Flag across pitch for offside. If it was a foul it would have been pointing in the direction Everton were playing. It was an offside decision. It's corruption.
  11. Disgusting decision at the end. Not even borderline. Absolutely f***ing disgusting.
  12. Chelsea fans seem to hate him as well.
  13. Even if it was directed from "on high", you would expect someone with a semblance of common sense to refuse to do anything about it given it makes us look small time and paranoid to the extent of being mental. It's a Twitter parody account, for f*** sake. It's an irrelevancy in the grand scheme of what he should be worrying about. He's went and met him in the middle of the day 30 miles up the road. There's an argument to be had about Jenkins certainly, but in the context of the club the only issue is that our head of PR has shown himself to be paranoid and not up to the job. Other considerations in the context of this particular "incident", for the time, are secondary to finding someone to replace him.
  14. I don't think anyone who makes up a fake Twitter account for that sort of thing is doing it for anything other than a bit of a laugh and to see how many people buy it. There's certainly no malice in it.
  15. "Duncan Jenkins", given plenty of people (not me mind) know who he is, has no reason whatsoever for making this up. All he'd doing would be humiliating himself by spreading bulls*** before getting sued. It's clearly happened and Chang, on account of threatening him, threatening his family's livelihood, suggesting we're mental and seemingly indulging in petty, small time bulls*** whilst the big issues are ignored, needs to pack his f***ing bags and piss back off to America immediately instead of stealing a living from the club whenever he clearly doesn't have the first f***ing idea what is going on. Another sterling appointment by FSG.
  16. Arsenal went on a similar run under Wenger and recovered it. That's pretty much what I'm clinging to at the minute as a recent precedent, but we look devoid of confidence and any belief we can win games and it's now pervasive.
  17. Difficult not to be demotivated at this point. Seven games in, one win. About two wins at home in 2012 in the league, and one of them against a team who didn't really give a s*** at that point. It's f***ing appalling.
  18. Cole has been s***, but I've never thought he was taking the piss. He's always struck me as someone who wants to do well and tries to, he just isn't up to it any more.
  19. If by "take the ball and try to create things" he means tentatively run towards the opposition before turning and passing it backwards then he's about right.
  20. Burley is offensively s*** and his attempts at "banter" with Jon "Just as big of a c*** as Burley" Champion are particularly s***.
  21. Surely it should be: Gerrard and Allen, Lucas and Sahin Hendo and Jonjo-oh-whoah On account of rhyming a lot better.

Is there any way of watching this on iPad?
  23. The hypocrisy is genuinely flabbergasting and that people, en masse, won't recognise it is a terrifying indictment of the utter depths that modern journalism has plunged to. They should be ashamed of themselves.

    Norwich

Sahin and Assaidi couldn't justifiably be dropped.
  25. Only saw the second half, but thought we were excellent. Aissadi and Sahin should be starting at the weekend.
