  1. We've obviously got something. We're not dense enough to send him on loan and wind up with nothing. f***ing surely.
  2. Reina's a bit of a concern, really.
  3. More reputable sources are saying that isn't the case. I can't see it being either, Carroll will think if he can score a few goals this year he might be able to come back and change the manager's mind.
  4. No commitment to buy? What s***.

    Spearing

What age were they when they won though? It's different if you're 19, get ten games and go on to be s*** than if you're in your mid-ish twenties.

    Spearing

He tries hard, but is ultimately nowhere near good enough and he'd probably be best accepting this and moving on. It's not as if he's "young" either, he's well past the point where he'd have made a breakthrough if he was going to.
  7. If Carroll has been excluded from the squad tonight it's probably as clear an indication he's going to get that Rodgers doesn't want him about the place. Referring to him as a "third choice striker" is also pretty clear. It's admirable if he wants to stay and try to turn it around, but I just can't see it. You can see what Rodgers is trying to do on the pitch and Walcott would be infinitely more useful to use than Carroll. Not that Walcott is world class, but in terms of what the player can offer here and now, Walcott would be much better for us. He should probably go for the sake of his own career, but I can understand the reluctance if he only has West Ham as an option.
  8. I can't see what we possibly hope to gain from sending Spearing on loan. Just get rid of him and bank the fee.
  9. Mascherano, Kuyt, Alonso, Torres, Gerrard on form. f***ing hell, what a team we had.

    For f*** sake
  11. If there's no takers at a decent fee then there's not a great deal you can do.
  12. I'd rather not see him on the coaching staff here, although I admit that this is mostly based on my perception that he's not overly progressive and would be advocating that players "boot it to safety" and "hit it to the big man up front".
  13. Scott Sinclair will be thrilled to read that, I'm sure.
  14. About as clear an indication as you're going to get of what Rodgers actually thinks of him as a player for the front three.
  15. I'm at a wedding on Friday. I'm not sure "I'm checking to see if we've signed Walcott yet" would make me look cool.
  16. I'd look at it like this. If we could sell Downing for £8M and buy Walcott for £15M, I'd consider the £7M spent as good business for an upgrade. I'm aware that's quite a crude way of looking at it, but still. He's miles better than Downing.
  17. I really don't know where I stand on Walcott. Sometimes he looks potentially brilliant, most of the time he looks a bit s***. I think his pace alone would be a huge benefit, but I can't see us shelling out £15M for him at this point.
  18. Afellay would be an excellent loan signing.
  19. We're not paid millions of quid a year to judge players. It's okay if we're wrong, we're not costing a company several million quid if we make a mistake when we say "you know, I reckon Charlie Adam might do alright".
  20. I wouldn't exchange Carroll for Dempsey. I'd exchange him for Huntelaar and Dempsey though.
  21. The difference is that we can't plead we want to keep him and are selling him under duress. We quite clearly want to get rid of him and he's also very clearly about seventh choice midfielder.
  22. Adam is dogs***. We'd be making Everton's team worse and banking millions. Get rid.

Selling Adam and Spearing should go ahead regardless. The pair of them are rubbish.
  24. Rodgers has really impressed me recently. I'm really starting to think we might well have made a great appointment.
