Without wishing to sound like a bighead, my mate (not a mate of a mate ) works in very close contact to the club. Occasionally he gives me a bit of gossip and that was something he told me a few weeks back. Can't say his name though as he, to an extent, is quite well known. I'm not the sort of fella who gives it all the "I know this etc", I just like sharing bits of stuff I hear as I know I like to hear it myself

I'd be surprised if we bought Pedersen for the money he'd cost as you can expect to see quite a bit of Leto next season. It's only because his club were so desperate for him to help them in their league campaign that he didn't arrive in January. Watch him go next season, I heard a little whisper that he's the one that's the most highly rated by Benitez out of all the newcomers.

There is a great story about him where he had been at Waterstones in Newcastle all day doing a book signing. Coming to the end of his stint, one fan came up, shook his hand and all that and said to him, "How many of these have you signed today, Bobby". "Hundreds, son, hundreds" laughed Bobby. The lad was somewhat dismayed as well as amused when he got outside to find that the inscription in the book was, "Best wishes, Bobby Hundreds" Fantastic

Spot on. I disagree slightly about the agents thing. Bloodsucking leeches they may be to an extent but they offer services that are invaluable to a footballer. If they were subject to a lot more regulation and worked on a standard fee ie 5% of their client's salary and no more then I can't see any reason why they shouldn't be part of the process. It's the clubs paying them as well that drains the cash out of the game.
