Moores effectively holds the golden share allowing us to be run properly and not be manipulated such that all the things that make LFC different, the things most of us including your goodself I assume hold dear, aren't thrown away. You say we've been trying for investment for years .... have we really? Where's the evidence to back that up? We were approached in 2004 (not went looking) and studied the proposals from Morgan and the Thais and rejected them. And neither fitted your criteria of installing a board with shedloads of money. Kraft may or may not have been in talks since - again there's little substance to this. So for all your grandiose statements there's little real evidence of the football market being awash with people prepared to come in and throw money away buying big name players to appease needy fans.

But where the proof that there are suitors out there prepared to spend 100m to buy the club and then spend to satisfy your urges? The only divine right we have if for the club to be run on a professional basis such that we spend what we earn, and I'd always rather that than become some sugardaddy's plaything.

But that is my point, you can't quote that in isolation as it ignores completely what has gone before - and if you look at the figures from the previous year we had to "overspend" to provide Rafa with funds. We speculated. We also had a very expensive Gerard Houllier and friends to pay off. And as has been explained at considerable length the CL win wasn't the cash cow many who either can't be arsed looking up the facts or haven't got access to them think it was. You would never use the same logic in business as you're applying here. You would never borrow money and then ignore the repayments due and just spend as if the repayments didn't exist. The problem I have is you're aren't using your much heralded common sense when it comes to discussing the board and finances at LFC.

the problem Molby is you're like the conspiracy theorists who exist on the internet - you don't use all the facts available but only a small % to back up your theories and ignore those that contradict it. You clutch things from the air and shout "A-ha!" and refuse to listen to reasoned and balanced arguments many of which have been expounded at great length on here and elsewhere. It's got to the stage where many posters just can't be arsed engaging you in debate because like Raymond Babbitt you'll repeat over and over the same random figures and have little grasp on the real world.
