  1. Gerrard?
  2. I'd look to win it myself. There is a reason we have a deep squad and that is to allow us to challenge on four fronts. The likes of Cavalieri, Hyypia, Degen, Ngog, Plessis, El Zhar, Hammill, Darby and even Benayoun, Skrtel, Babel, Lucas, Dossena/Aurelio, Torres can find the match practise of a lot of use. If we progress later we can just use the squad players. Cavalieri Darby Skrtel Hyypia Aurelio El Zhar Lucas Plessis Babel Torres Ngog
  3. HAHAHAHA !! Boy you'd wonder why these c**** get paid for crap like this.
  4. Yep.
  5. YNWA
  6. Woah! Daniela Cavalieri!!
  7. Really? If anything i think he's closer to Mark Gonzales than Riera. I say this because he'll knock it past a defender with a shuffle and then use his pace to get past the player than pure trickey, quite unlike Riera. He's technically sound though, so maybe there is a relation with the Riera comparisions. Edit: Just got your context now.. But the lad has heart and he'll not hide even if he's having a bad game, which is always good to see in a young player. He's also at the right age to move to a big club without being too fazed by it. I think he'll cost lesser than what Babel did for us, he's not 19..he's 23.
  8. Yes. A four year extension in the summer.
  9. Lucky git, Crouchy.
  10. He's had a lot of niggly injuries through the early part of it and was understandably out of form when he just came back. He's VERY quick off the ball but needs to work on his game when he has it. He isnt anywhere near the finished article to command a 15 million fee and is quite inconsistent to boot, but i guess Rafa sees something in him. He's a direct player who scores nowhere near what he should but provides a lot of assists, can use both his feet and likes to run at defenders. I dont watch a lot of German football, but this fellow stays on his feet a lot more than what i see Spaniards do in their league which is sometimes good to see. 6 million pounds was the deal banded about last summer, where did 15 come from apart from a quote by their manager saying 'even 15 million wouldnt allow AC Milan to get him' or summat. On a different note, if we sign Kuba it opens up a idea of a 352 with Dossena and Kuba as wingbacks. Both fullbacks have played wingback in a back 5 before (Kuba with Wisla and Dossena at Udinese) and we have 4 very good centrehalves. Also, i can see us signing Johnson and Heskey but not Johnson and Kuba.
  11. But Insua has been in the fringes of the first team for 2 seasons now. And it'd be interesting to see what happens once Aurelio's fit...and if Dossena himself progresses. I want to win the league and the best players in Jan to help us get even better. Its fair to say that right back is a potential problem is Arbeloa is injured..plus he cant play all the games this season without being fooked and it could simply be that Darby hasnt reached that level to be trusted that much, yet.
  12. He doesnt even go up for corners when he plays fullback.
  13. Is the right answer.

  15. He's a good option to play as he commits defenders and makes great runs. He also has the knack of getting into space in the opposition penalty box. One can see him in space just waiting for the ball to be passed to him in many of the highlight reels when we get into the box. Good player who works hard defensively as well. Better than Park at United. He's not really an impact player though and has best use in a game where he starts and this is one of the reasons he hasnt looked good for us. Luis had the ability to be an impact player with his unpredictability, Benny needs a good part of the game to create that one opening for himself or for another player. He's a nice guy who doesnt gloat the media attention but is still rated by a lot of teams outside the top 4.
  16. He wouldnt and fair enough. My initial point was that he wouldnt have been able to do the same answer to a similar question in the same way for Bolton because of their results and the fact that we're doing well has helped him out a lot. On another note, was the tackly on Ngog a penalty? Contact was definitely made but was quite light...would we have gone nuts here if something like that had gone against us?
  17. I find answers like "There were many people in the stands" to the question "Skrtel and Torres were in the stands. when will they be match fit" a tad cocky. But he's interviewed well i agree.
  18. I dont get it. Why does Rafa signing Glen Johnson mean that he's selling Dossena?
  19. To be fair you are allowed to sound cocky when you're team is doing well. He was doing very poorly, moreso when compared to the success that Fat Sam brought Bolton. Different situation.
  20. I rate your rating a 5.5
  21. Haha
  22. Lucas Gerrard Kuyt
  23. Even if he didnt turn their defense inside out, players like him always make extra space for others to take advantage of and us with Gerrard did exactly that. I have no problems with his performance today, it was only his third start of the season and he gave us the option of pace which always kept Newcastle on the back foot.
  24. Only just realised that Tristan is playing for West ham now. What a deadly player he was for Depor in the early part of the decade.
  25. And now Arsenal score. What a waste of time watching that game now. Calamity James strikes again...made atleast a couple of mistakes today.
