Tommok

just looked and can't find them

Presumably because he sees good potential for making a far greater profit by holding on and then selling up a little way further down the line. I get the impression we may have to face up to him being around for a while longer yet

Not a great advert for the Premiership that match though was it?

Well I was more surpised by it being majority owned by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

I've just come back from New York and some of the Fox coverage of American sports - that they should know about - was bad enough!

True. Out of all our strikers other than Torres, Crouch has probably spent the most time playing in a traditional centre forward's position (when he actually gets a game). However for the most part, although he spends a lot of time in the box, he does seem to look for a flicked pass first rather than shooting - at the moment at least. With the ball at his feet he is a pretty decent striker but often isn't greedy enough. Kuyt scored a lot of goals in a classic centre forward's position at club level in Holland but this season on the rare occasions he is in the box rather than out on the wing or in midfield, his finishing has been singularly unimpressive.

One of the papers was saying we were in for Huntelaar too at £12M - I've seen a bit of both Huntelaar and Fred and they do look good but then so did Kuyt in Holland and Cisse in France

What????

Charles had a kicking nightmare at Stamford Bridge in the Carling Cup too - I think only two of his kicks made it over the halfway line.

Our physio team have got enough to cope with continually patching up Aurelio, Kewell and Agger without burdening them with more work!

Jeez I really hope I don't hear that one this evening! Back to the drawing board!

You only have to look at the prices someone quoted earlier for Alonso, Reina and Agger to see that is not strictly true. Even the huge price we paid for Torres is looking like a decent one too.

and that would be bad - how exactly?????

To be honest there was no way Lawton and his type were going to come out and say anything other than something detrimental to Rafa - they just seem to be stubborn in the same way they criticise Rafa of being. I bet they were gutted when we scored late on Saturday as it deprived them of a chance to really stick the knife in. Unless he was advocating that we start with Torres, a player who has only just come back from injury and drop either Crouch or Voronin who were superb on Tuesday - which would then be admitting that rotation is necessary at times - then this article makes no sense whatsoever. It seems as though Lawton wanted Rafa to come out and say Torres is by far away our best striker and should start every game whether injured or not because all our other strikers are comparatively pretty rubbish. Just because he wouldn't do that, he gets slammed

Aside from the agenda, it's just very poorly written - how do journos get away with such rubbish?

no call up for JP - still though. Oh well it keeps him for us I guess.

Did we ever find out if we had agreed a fee before the loan spell? His value will be through the roof now if sold on the open market

I see chelsea are again linked with Quaresma in the NOTW - £27M apparently!!! Couldn't see us being interested in paying anywhere near that for him.

"Setanta further raised the ire of BSkyB by aligning itself last week with bitter rival Virgin Media, the cable company in which Sir Richard Branson is the largest single shareholder. Virgin will offer Setanta Sports for nothing to the 1.4m subscribers to its top tier package." I'm intrigued to know if this is true and what constitutes Virgin's top tier package - anyone know?

I've been saying this too (to myself mainly mind you) - does this make me a bluenose traitor as well?

Is it repeated later this evening?

Think we're pretty well stocked with strikers now aren't we?

Tevez has probably added another couple of million to his price tag after his performance for Argentina today though!

Other than that he's a great signing though
