it doesn't mean you'd be right, but then, i didn't say that. an example would be carra's OG, i was quite close to it in the kemlyn road and it didn't look like a howler, the cross looked whipped in, corridor of uncertainty etc. It's only when i watched it on motd2 that it looks bad, however i usually go with what i saw at the match. same with pens not given. oh absolutely. my initial post didn't get either of these things across, but they are inarguable. with a bit of time on the ball (that hannover happily gave him) he looks like a new bergkamp, but he's not good enough for any side in england's top division.

I can't answer this as i wasn't at the game, and my opinion is less valid than the lads who were. It would be interesting to hear an opinion from those who were there, instead of every thread getting spammed by the same opinions from Cobs. Were you there Cobs?

Granted it was a toss up between Kuyt and Keane as to who was going to get subbed. It probably comes down to a) Dirk going upfront changes things up a bit instead of Keane staying on and doing the same thing. Give their Defenders something new to think about as they were having no trouble with Keane and Kuyt had given Clichy 70 minutes of sheer hell. And b) Dirk is the most reliable player on the pitch, a leader and a battler, he has a track record of big and late goals for us and personally i'd sub him rarely or never. (edit, that was supposed to have Cob's quote in it)

Do you mean the largely anonymous Keane? El Zhar came on and offered far more. Babel didn't do his job. Keane was substituted for footballing reasons, not some pre-ordained masterplan. If he'd done enough to merit it, he'd have stayed on. For me he was no threat once Adebayor went and Arsenal started defending with a deeper line.

A draw there is a good result. They're a good side who played with loads of fight once that Togoan lump got sent. We could have won it with a stronger bench. When Keane came off i'd almost forgotten he was there so that can't be seen as negative.

who was it who got sent at anfield when they went on to win 2-1? van bronckhorst? they got similarly fired up that day. credit to them for holding on, but a stronger bench and rafa being there might have made the difference.

funnily enough i was going to post the same thing. have just read the blog comments about the match on there, absolutely crazy some of that stuff.
