I guess it's less strange now. No real drama behind the scenes - just a cosmetic solution to last season's failure and perhaps an expedited transfer process. Although a new DoF isn't beyond the realms of possibility. -
Did he approach you for the interview or vice versa? Just intrigued about the timing.

Hard to say how much competition we had to sign Sterling from QPR, but it strikes me as faintly ridiculous that a club of our size should agree to a 20% sell-on clause. You don't hear of that happening very often.
