All this bluff and bluster talk about all these players we’re after and are desperate to join us all seems a bit too much like PR spin to me. A bit like when spurs would be linked with loads of players but sign either no one or inferior players. We can they give the same old excuses that we tried but no value in the market, out priced, out bid blah blah blah. We’ve already had our first taste of it with Bellingham and we’re not even at the end of the season yet.

If we wanted him to stay it makes me worry about our transfer plans cos if we’re signing the 3 new ones that everyone seems to think we are why would we need him to stay and why would he want to if he was never going to play.

All these players that supposedly only want to join us is great and all and shows we still have just as much pull as others but trouble is it all comes down to the same old issue…FSG unwilling/unable to put up the necessary dosh to buy them.

If we’re effectively going to be playing a boxed midfield with two in front of the back 3 and and 2 ahead of them behind the front 3 then currently we have this Trent fabinho Thiago bajcetic Henderson jones Elliot carvalho We’re already losing Keita, Milner and ox and if we’re looking to bring 3 more in we’ll need to lose 3 or so from the above. Thiago, fabinho and then carvalho (loan) would probably be my guess with Henderson staying put in the milner role. Thiago doesn’t really fit in the above formation and doesn’t have that intensity we’re after from those positions so as good and classy footballer as he is it’s probably not bad idea to sell him although he does seem a good lad behind the scenes.

I wonder if this is what we kind of have in mind for next season: ……………………..Alisson ……….Konate ……virg….. robbo …………….Trent gravenberch ……Mount ……………….macallister Salah …………gakpo……………… diaz Gomes and matip could cover konate and virg and maybe look at someone like ndicka (free) to cover robbo. Henderson, Thiago, bajcetic and Fabinho could all cover the defensive 2 although that’s probably too many in that position so could sell one or two of them. Jones, Elliot and carvalho can all cover the attacking 2 although maybe look at getting carvalho a loan. Jota and nunes can provide alternatives to the attacking 3 and maybe give someone like doak that 6th spot. If we could somehow pull that off for next season I think it’d be quite exciting…in fact I’m making this so on FIFA right now!!

I reckon we could find some value for money with the likes of Kone, K Thuram or ugarte all who could play that holding role/physical presence. Enzo le Fee could also be a cheaper option for that creative/play maker spark if those linked to in the PL end up being priced out of a move to us. Gavi is possibly on a free but would no doubt want astronomical wages and we’d have plenty of competition for him but he could be that marquee signing. There’s also Florian Wirtz who seems to be highly rated in Germany and Xavi Simmons who seems to be developing well at PSV. There are options over and above Bellingham albeit none of them quite as high profile but we never have gone for that high profile type before when building klopp’s first team. We just need to be smart about it again.

You’d assume that the fees and wages of Gallagher and mount = Bellingham give or take. I know what I’d prefer

Gavi is on a free now given his contract issue at Barcelona who we’ve been previously linked with… then again we’ll have to pay him big wages that we don’t have cos we have a bigger rebuild job than we realised and need to spread those wages across 5 players! Another one that’ll end up at City no doubt.

Let’s assume for one minute it’s true, I’d suggest it’d 1) be laughed out by Dortmund 2) be gazzumped quite significantly by other clubs 3) mean we can say “at least we tried” and 4) for some inexplicable reason we spend nowhere near that amount for the rest of the window.

Trouble is he may really really want to play for us but we have to pay Dortmund actual money to get him here. Never gonna happen

Seems a player we’ve monitored for a while is available for about £10m, Brazilian Angelo Gabriel from Santos who is a left footed right winger. Also linked to Newcastle and forest and flamengo.

Not that I disagree but where do we get best part of 250m+ from?

Is it an FA led investigation or Premier League led? May have differing consequences and appetite to throw the book at them

So what’s the point then…

we’ll get told that he’s coming back to be a first team player once we don’t sign anyone but if we had to have bought him he’d have cost at least 40m given how well he performed for Blackburn. So we’re essentially getting a 40m player for free.

The renewals will come (inc Milner) when the club drop the facade of signing Bellingham or when he announces he’s joining someone else.

But instead renew ox and Keita after they’ve undergone a rehab programme to prove they’re over their injury issues (when we all know they’ll get injured the day after the window closes) and also rewarded Milner with another year after winning the beep test again.
