Hunter was just on Newstalk discussing the Torres speculation Basically he said that it is on, but expects Rafa to start leaking more information to the press regarding the speed at which he is currently able to acquire his targets. It is an important 'battle' which Hunter feels that Rafa must 'win' in order for him to continue at the club. He mentioned that Rafa and his team had a deal in place to sign Malouda but the money wasn't made immediately available. Hunter also expects that we will see similar quotes to the ones just before he left Valencia appearing from Rafa if he does not feel as though he has the financial backing. By the way, the fee Hunter mentioned was £22 million. Oh, I'm sure that by the time this appears on the board it will be a Romario

I'm pretty sure Rafa instructed him to get the booking, watching on TV they showed Rafa shouting at Dirk (could have been anything, but there didn't appear to be any positional gestures). Almost immediately afterwards Dirk jumped into one of the PSV defenders without going for the ball or to injure the player, I tihnk he expected a booking, when he didn't get the booking he stayed in front of the ball until he was booked.

Just found this in the Echo report and thought it was brilliant: Liverpool have contested 45 matches so far. Crouch has started 24. Of that double dozen, he has finished six. as far as I recall Dida picked one way and kept going to that side, whereas Pepe was making an (educated) decision on each one. Both were fantastic saves, nothing wrong with either pens, just great goalkeeping

When they showed it live I assumed it was thrown by a chav, it was closer to hitting Riise. Of course the only angle you're gonna see it from is the one which makes it look as though it whistled by Gallas' (or whichever classless chav mercenary's) head. Also, you know that it wasn't remotely close to hitting a chav because they didn't react as though they were hit by the truck that delivered the fake beer to the offy.
