It might be. He's entering that stage of his career where he's going to have to alter his game or sink. He gets out-muscled more than he used to and he's not as fast as he used to be. Still great when we're in possession but that's not really the requirement anymore. He either needs to bulk up/alter how he plays or go to a club that actually has sitting midfielders who can protect him, the way Xabi and Masch used to.

I'm fine with only spending what we generate, it's what we all wanted towards the end of the G&H era, but it'll only work from a position of strength. It seems to me that we are now going to be stuck in a cycle of strengthening areas in which our best players leave because they're sick of waiting now. The big spending that happened last summer appears to be the loan they gave the club for an instant return into the CL. It backfired spectacularly thanks to the s*** buys, and if they are not willing to do that again at some point I don't know how we are ever going to progress.

The only thing I miss about hodgson is those vids that fella made about Woy's convos and smints.

It's beyond the joke now, this f***ing clown has got to go.
