Silva, Barry, Ramos Tevez, Barry, Ramos I'd be ecstatic with either! Barry and Ramos though. Barry and Ramos.
-
I'd be made up with one of Silva and Tevez. Barry I think is nailed on, and we need a right back who can cover at center back. Silva, Barry and Ramos. they're my pick.
-
I'm starting to come (back) around the idea of keeping Lucas. I like him but worry he's not really suited to English footie. I think he's getting more used to it though. I also think we should be trying to keep as much of the squad together as possible. Silva (if true) and a new right back would do me. As would Tevez, and new right back. I want a new right back btw. A new right back.
-
I think the big signing will be a right back or an attacking midfielder. A new striker is behind these two in priorities. We've scored 52 in 36 with Torres and Gerrard suffering injuries. We can cope without another striker. N'Gog will have a season under his belt and Babel could yet stay. That said I think we'll get another striker. Especially if Babel is sold.
-
There's not a lot on the bench if we have to pull something out of the hat.
-
That's exactly what I thought when we were linked to Barry last year. The two wider CMs would cover the the full backs. Barry would be perfect for it, as would Gerrard and maybe Kuyt.
-
I used to call him the "Head Henchoz". I thought that was pretty funny.

I don't agree with no Red Card appeals in Europe
Billy Talbot replied to anfield11 's topic in General Football Discussion
Totally. Makes no difference that he touched the ball. It was a reckless challenge on a player through on goal. If I was in charge at UEFA, I'd take another look at it, uphold the red and fine Man U for wasting my time. -
OR I think we're thinner at right back than we are up front. We've got Arbeloa and Darby. That's it. Up front we have to sell to buy for me. We've scored loads of goals this season, goals from all over, so getting hung up on forward players is a bit backward
-
I can take not reinforcing up front too much. We've scored loads of goals this season and there's more from what we have. We've got some promising youth as well. Our midfield will be improved by Barry so long it's only at the expense of Lucas. I'd think it would be a mistake if we didn't improve at right back. We've got 3 left backs, and a right back who can play left. We've only got one decent right back. I'd make it the blockbuster if we could.

I quite agree. I think the signing of Gareth Barry and another player who makes a 1stXI place his own would be a good summers work. At least in terms of the first team. All other "recycling" will probably be largely irrelevant unless we've got a lot more cash than it looks like we have. Unless we consolidate the value of outgoings into less players. OR strike lucky on an unknown or cheap transfer. That said. I want a new - better than Arbeloa - right back. Preferably one that's capable at centre half.
-
Those points I could agree with.. If I could think of a world class Hyypia type available for a decent fee which wouldn't compromise our ability to sign our first choice RB, winger and forward.
-
We don't want to "recycle" too many players. Fair enough recycling Lucas for Barry. And I wouldn't mind recycling Babel. Although I'm starting to get the feeling Babel will be here next season. We need to add a RB. We need another wide man, preferably able to play both sides or more of a lefty. Unless N'Gog is going to start coming on leaps and bounds we need another forward. For me, that's only 3-4 new players. 2 one in, one outs and 1 or 2 additions. Btw, selling Skrtle is idiotic As is signing the coward that is Downing.

This week's European Footyball

I'll double your bonus with a thrashing in the final. -
Aye. Tautology. Event 1 is seen as causal to event 2 because they follow on from each other in a linear fashion, therefore they must be connected. It's all part of the human desire to see patterns. It's a clever survival instinct but it also makes us very gullible to these sorts of suggestions. If event 2 never happened, or happened before event 1, there would be no linear relationship between the two for people to see a causation, and would therefore go unremarked upon. Form in football is usually to do with players fitness, physical and mental. Confidence, team spirit and the relative quality and similar fitness, confidence and team spirit of the recent opposition*. Not whether or not the manager has decided to wear a suit or told a journalist to go s*** in his socks. *Unless you're Man U, in which case form is also dependent on recent referee's willingness to bend like the willows in the wind.

I definitely think we need a right back. Degen is next to useless, Darby is untested. Darby should have / maybe would have been loaned out this season if Degen had stayed fit. So he's b****xed us right up there. When Arbeloa is injured or is rested there's nobody in the squad to do the job required. Why didn't we sign Alves - AARRRGGG!
-
I don't think Ashley Young would improve us as much as we'd hope for the fee required. Regarding Tuncay, I think he'd be a better option for us than El Zhar.
-
Maybe next year... We should get rid of : 1) Babel 2) Lucas (I've been a big fan in the past but think we'd be better off cutting our losses) 3) Voronin 4) Deggen (loan?) We should sign : 1) Barry (replacement for Lucas) 2) A right sided forward 3) A right back I'd advocate another left sided player if we let Dossena go. I liked Arda at the Euros. Hopefully we'll keep Agger and Sami otherwise we'll be a CB short. I do like Hangelaand. I'd quite like Owen back if we can get him on favourable terms, the snide little turd that he is. I also like the shout for Tuncay, I think he'd make a good squad player if available and willing to get splinters in his a***. I agree about there being less value this year in transfers from abroad, the exchange rate is awful compared with previous years.

Mascherano needs to remember what his job in this team is... It's not running around like a t**. I could do that.
-
I think we play the best football - but we're not as bent or aggressive as the other b******s.

I certainly felt cheated a few times last night. And I've got a right cob this morning. The cat's gone out, my girlfriend's gone out - hopefully all day and some saleswoman from india just got an earful. I don't see why I should leave the ref out of it. The t***.
-
That's because they're c****.
-
I moan about refs when we win so I allow myself to wallow in this deceit. Webb was a t*** last night. So caught up in not being a homer he gave us f*** all.
-
Last time I felt so aggrieved by Arsenal, I prised all the JVC badges off my stereo. Thank f*** I'm not flying Emirates any time soon.
