    Never a penalty when we lost 2-1 at OT, Howard Webb strikes again.

    Think the midfield is the problem. Sort that and it will give the back up that the defense and attack both need.

    There was no sense of urgency in the second half and don't think we created enough clear cut chances to win the game to be honest. We spent too much time with pretty passes at the back and in the centre circle. Coutinho, Mane and Salah shouldn't be picking up the ball next to Matip and Lovren. The Newcastle lads must have been delighted to see them so far away from their goal.

    Klopp wasn't handcuffed today, we had the better players but no real tactical plan. Also thought Moreno offered more than Gomez today.

    Rafa gave his players a specific plan today and they played to it. With better players I'm not sure what Jurgen's plan was, and I cant remember the last time one of his subs changed a game.

    This is true, our scouting team had scoured all levels of Southampton's playing staff and could only find VVD.

    Don't think the problem lies with the quality of the players we have (CB situation apart) but more with the squad mentality. Not sure they have the inbuilt "win at all costs" attitude that they need to win trophies. Whether that can be developed or needs to be bought in is the question for me.

    I think our squad cost more than Leicester and Burnley's. The midfield is where the problem lies for me, not enough cover given to the defence.
