  9. Well said. Sadly, after reading some of the responses on here the last few days regarding players' wages and season ticket prices, I don't think your sensible suggestion will get off the ground.

  11. Ahhh, the transfer specualtion thread; the methadone we crave to wean us off our addiction to the real thing.

  13. Depends on the nurse, mate. Depends on the nurse!
  14. Anyone ever read "The Ragged Trousered Phillanthropist"?

  16. That helps enormously my friend. Let's underpin their justification even more shall we.
  17. I can't believe people who have to bear the brunt of this rise are actually defending it. A report recently suggested that with the TV money, all premiership clubs could actually let all fans in for nothing for five season and still be competitive. And yes, I do want a business to ask its customers how much to charge. That's effectively what happens in all other walks of life except football. The customer can walk away if he thinks he's being overcharged but of course the football authorities know people can't do that so they take us for mugs. As I stated, I will be paying but I'll be letting them know I'm doing it under protest and I urge everyone else to do the same. It's ultimately for the benefit of the game you love before it eats itself.

  19. No, he's a realist who believes in the old economic adage about any asymetry ultimately being the ruin of all business.
  20. Oh they can win alright. While we sit there star-struck and gob-smacked at their audacity in demanding up to 400 times the national average wage and there's people prepared to actually DEFEND this obscene right (and there's no other word for it), then they absolutely can win. If you're happy with that situation then carry on. Me, I find it disgusting and the sooner people wake up to it, the better for all concerned. Yes, for footballers too in the long run.
  21. No, it's not. But if we who pay a portion of this obscene money stand idly by and say and do nothing, then the disparity will grow even wider. It's already started to have an effect and the backlash is definitely in the post. They all need to watch themselves and try and rein themselves in before it is too late. If it isn't already. What (sniff) heroes our boys are. Makes me (sniff, sniff) proud to be a supporter of this beautiful (sniff) game, it really does. We should (sniff) erect a statue to these (sniff) selfless modern day giants.
  22. Meanwhile, dedicated nurses are working long shifts trying to save people's lives for £15,000 per year in some cases.
  23. 1. Moan about ticket prices. 2. Moan so much about ticket prices, aways become irrelevant since I refuse to do any. 3. Moan some more about ticket prices. And player's wages.
  24. b******s. We need screaming, ranting and raving and falling out with each other. We need hysterical claims and counter-claims and insider knowledge based on tenuous (at best) "connections" to people on the fringe of matters. We need, in short, a 12 month football season! (Sorry, can't be arsed going back and writing it all again but please feel free to imagine all the above written in capitals. In red.)
