  1. He's an idiotic scumbag.
  2. I hope Stevie Gerrard wins it this year.
  3. There's a real snobbery with songs and banners amongst some isn't there?
  4. Henry is incredible. The way he put the ball in the top corner with consumate ease for his second goal yesterday was awesome. An Arsenal v Barca final could be pretty good...
  5. Henri Camara surely.
  6. We've every chance in the FA Cup semi. They're nothing to fear.
  7. We've no chance this year. United, depressingly, do. How funny would it be to see Chelsea win nothing though? You'd just have to ignore who took the title...
  8. If its a draw today, it gives West Brom and Manchester United all the more incentive to play well today. Bad news for us. And yet I still can't bring myself to want Chelsea to score.
  9. Parker's the obvious choice I reckon.

    Zenden

Hoped he'd be back to score the winner against Boro in the FA Cup Final.
  11. Really don't want Arsenal to win it as I don't want any other English team to do so. Lyon first, then Barca for me.
  12. Really can't see Garcia going anywhere. Rafa loves him and he's our most likely player to pop up with a crucial goal.
  13. You monitor my Owen posts too closely...
  14. Probably yes because there were always a few who didn't rate him when he was here. Wish I'd got in that Owen/Crouch bet!
  15. Ok, but Robbie is still getting up to the levels of fitness that Rafa requires and has already looked more dangerous than Morientes. And Riise?
  16. But so few games are played at tournament level that its difficult to have incredible stats, particularly when England have only ever reached the quarter final stage with him around. Which England player would you suggest does have memorable stats? I agree that Rooney had an impressive Euro 2004 but he didn't score any in the qualifying rounds and in any event, no one is disputing that Rooney should start. I don't see anyone else with a great record that demands attention and Owen's place though.
  17. People like Cisse? As has been pointed out, this is his first full season in this country. How can he be judged on that?
  18. And how many of those Rooney goals did Owen make the assist for? Anyhow, I'm not going to get involved in an argument about how important to the England team Micheal Owen is. I would imagine anyone can recognise that. A quick glance at the all time England goalscorers would dispel any ludicrous suggestions to the contrary. The fact is, Owen is the most likely player in the England squad to find the back of the net. He is the only England player to score in four international tournaments in a row and will very likely make it five. He also has the much sought after 'big game mentality' which make him invaluable at that level. If he's fit and has played a couple of games, he goes and starts. If he's fit but rusty, he goes and they see how it goes in training. Its essential that he's in the squad and anyone who would seriously not start a fit Michael Owen in the World Cup needs their head examined.
  19. Great article.
  20. Both if I remember correctly.
  21. Because everyone is against us. Every ref is biased against Liverpool, every journo is a London based, Mourinho/Ferguson loving anti-Scouse b*****d, every TV pundit (especially those that used to play for us) are bitter and twisted, continually perpetuating the anti-Liverpool agenda. The England manager hates us (despite what he says) and will deliberately flog our English players (who all hate England too) to death whilst giving all of the Chelsea and United contingent a hard earned rest every game. He also actively encourages Lampard etc to try and tap up our Stevie, who is just a little easily led and needs more protection. Oh and every employee of the FA, UEFA and FIFA hate us with a passion and are forever forming conspiracies to see us fail. This really is basics stuff Sammy.
  22. Rafa wants Duncan Oldham?
  23. I thought he'd be a useful signing then and I still do now. Gets a lot of goals from midfield and that's always useful.
  24. Always remember that game at home to Newcastle when Owen and Riedle scored twice and we came from 2-0 down. Heggem played brilliantly in the second half that day. And his two great goals against Middlesbrough of course.
  25. We do need Owen, or someone similar. We've suffered in so many games this year from a failure to put the ball in the net. We'd be much higher in the table (Charlton, United, Birmingham etc), World Club Champions and probably preparing for a European Cup quarter final against Benfica if we were more clinical in front of goal.
