  1. Owned, isn't it? I thought GOAL (the joint venture) was set up for five years, which means Beveren is now independent again. They are on the verge of bankrupcy though. He's said that he doesn't fancy a move to Arsenal, and would prefer Liverpool, Chelski or Manchester United. His primary reason is bitterness towards Arsene Wenger....
  2. £45 million according to Gazetta!
  3. It has been in the press, just not in England... I found several articles (in spanish) when I visited different Valencia forum's (I was looking for the latest gossip regarding Aimar).
  4. There were several elements to the conflict, and one of them was that Rafa had one more year left of his contract when he left. Two weeks ago Rafa agreed to compensate Valencia with ?400K for to end the dispute. Believe what you want, but this is the truth.
  5. The dispute was sorted a couple of weeks ago. Benitez agreed to pay Valencia ?400K...
  6. Macia has resigned at Valencia, and is widely expected to join Liverpool (I guess he'll replace Herrera).
  7. I would guess that's one thing, but I don't really know... I think things such as football shoes, travel money etc are also included.
  8. They still sign contracts. Usually for two years at a time.. It's not to make sure that they stay (these contracts can be annulled uniliterally by the player during the summer), but to make sure that they know what they are entitled to from the clubs. I read about this in an interview with David Pleat.
  9. I think it might be his career total....
  10. Le Gems...
  11. Didn't they beat Everton 12-0 or something?
  12. It's not an english based player, and it's not Simao (according to Rick Parry) or Joaquin (according to Dave U)... Juanfran or Daniel Alves probably.
  13. £5 million.... Not the best deal Parry has made!
  14. Reo-Coker, Toure, M.Richards and Barton are players I like...
  15. Excellent player, and probably the biggest talent in France (I rate him well above Ben Arfa). He's only 18 years old, but he's been a regular for Marseille for two years now. As for Ribery being ugly; he was in a serious car accident a few years back, and he looks the way he does because of the injuries he got in the crash. There are four players in France I think are worth signing: Diarra (Lyon), Abidal (Lyon), Nasri (Marseille) and Ribery (Marseille).
  16. I think he has the potential to become class. He's scored approx one goal every three games he's played, which is good considering his age and the fact that quite a few of those games has been as a substitute. He reminds me a bit of Cissé (very fast, very direct, limited skill), but he's a better reader of the game (not as many offsides) and has much more grit.
  17. If you think Morgan is bad news then you should try look for information on Spetalen. He'll probably want to sell all the players and then merge with Everton. Don't trust him at all.... There's nothing wrong with Stordalen though (except for the fact that he loves the limelight), but he hasn't got the necessary financial clout. As someone else has already said; the only norwegian who's rich enough is John Fredriksen (who's worth around £3.5 billion)
  18. Danny Murphy and David Thompson....
  19. I think you should post the link so that people can judge for themselves if it's worth trying....
  20. I think he was referring to Antwi, Roque, Hobbs, Anderson and Mimms, all part of the FA Youth Cup team. Do you know if Shane O'Connor now plays for Wilton? I thought he played for St. Joseph's Boys, but when I had a look at the squad for the national team he was listed as a Wilton-player. It might be two different players...? Ger Egan (coach at St. Joseph Boys) was quoted as saying that Shane O'Connor (the one Liverpool has signed, that I'm sure of!) is "good enough to grace any international team"... Hope he's right.
  21. You'll win that bet... I've watched him a few times playing for Portugal, and he's a very tall and commanding CB. It might be that he can also play in midfield, but central defence has been his position for Portugal.

    Youth Cup

Burns is injured though, while Barnett and Ryan are more comfortable in the middle. Having said that I was well impressed by Parsonage (though Barnett, Hammill and Antwi were the best players on the pitch).
  23. Henry can leave Arsenal for approx £4 million. His contract isn't protected, which means the fee will only be equal to his remaining wages, IF Henry himself decides to cancel his contract (which he must do within two weeks after the season is over).
  24. From a norwegian newspaper: "Harry Redknapp is corrupt, and you may quote me (Niels-Christian Holmstrøm) on that". It had something to do with Redknapp trying to sign Brede Hangeland from Viking.
