  1. The PFA nominations will already be in by now. They are normally submitted by February. Tough call this year. Dont think any one player has been substantially better than others. Think Carragher and Gerrard should both be shortlisted, but I reckon Terry or Lampard will win it. Rooney and Joe Cole are probably the only other players in with a chance imo.
  2. Houllier is far to good for that sh*ithouse club and their equally sh*t house fans FFS he looks like he's going to win the French League and may win the Champions League. They should hire Steve Bruce and they can laud another Geordie who wins f*ck all

  6. 1) Mini Pavarotti at the bar near Taxsim Square the night before the game. Very funny 2) Seeing a Chelsea fan wearing his colours at a bar near the Blue Mosque, the morning of the game. We were sat with a group of Milan fans, who saw him first and launched into a rousing rendition of "F**k of Chelsea, F**k off Chelsea" in their finest English. 3) In the taxi on the way to the game, seeing all the improvised methods of transport. Seeing a guy sat on the back of a TNT couriers motorbike was a highlight. 4) Bumped into a guy that I knew outside the ground, hadn't seen him for 3 years. I was wearing my liverpool shirt and he asked me what i was doing there!?!
  7. this was mentioned on another site yesterday too. seems that the rumours are gathering pace. i havent really seen enough of him to comment, but he has looked promising when they have shown Seville on Sky Sports. any idea what type of fee we would be looking at Pat?
  8. cant speak for others, but dredging up the past is not a positive or meaningful thing to bring up (by any fans, i might add). agree that all clubs have w*****s as supporters, but lately, some Utd fans do seem to feel the need to bring up every Liverpool indiscretion, big or small. not sure why this is the case.
  9. that wont happen as we'll win both next season
  10. agreed. no problems whatsoever. in fact, most fans are very positive about liverpool fans that they have come across. examples can be seen with betis and benfica fans this season.
  11. forgot one when i put my original fave goal down. fowlers goal against Villa at Anfield, when he backheeled the ball through Staunton's legs and then hit a cracker into the corner from 25 yards out. special goal from a talent on top of his game.
  12. Stunning goal that was. We could create a great list of goals from that season alone. Barnes 2 goals against QPR at home, Nicol's 25 yard header at Arsenal, etc
  13. Would have said Owen's goal against Arsenal, but one of my other favourite goals, was scored by John Aldridge against N Forest in the 1988 FA Cup Semi Final. Great wing play by Barnes, one-two with Beardsley, fantastic first time ball in the box and John Aldridge with flying volley into top left hand corner. We were on fire that season. Stunning team goal. Love seeing flowing team moves like that. Shows how beautiful football can be, when played with speed and skill
  14. Spot on. The penalty against Barcelona in the UEFA semi-final was perfect, considering the pressure.
  15. champions league winner would swing it for me.
  16. We're on 58 points with 8 games to go. If we win 4, that would give us 70 points. Spurs have a tough run in and i dont expect them to catch us. Still to play Arsenal, Man Utd, etc Arsenal are on 47 points with 9 games to go. To beat our total they would have to win 8 of these games. Thats a very tall order. We need to focus on ourselves and with our run -n, we are capable of getting points at all remaining games.
  17. 1) No 2) Yes 3) No 4) Yes 5) Yes 6) Yes
  18. it depends on the quality of player we bring in and the opposition we play against i prefer him on the right as we have a better balance centrally with Xabi and Momo. if we have a top quality right winger and a strong centre forward, gerrard can play off the striker in a 451 depending on who we play against. at least we have the option of being tactically flexible
  19. impossible to say without knowing who we purchase in the summer. with the current squad. right wing.

    Fabio Aurelio?

but thats the issue. is someone available, who has the right quality, and at the right price to shift Gerrard from right wing? i'm not so sure, especially with our problems up front, which i think are far more acute. .

    Fabio Aurelio?

i think he'll stick with one and rotate with gerrard. excellent news, i missed that. thanks

    Fabio Aurelio?

If true, I stand corrected and will be even more made up 3 players that will improve the squad for budget prices. i've seen aurelio play a few times and is a decent left back. Gonzalez will definitely offer us something different, with his pace and touch. Not seen Paletta, but he's an Argie defender and as long as he's quicker than the last Argie defender we had here, we should be ok. Also, enables us to spend more money on the 2 strikers and right winger we need.
