I can't see him getting an opportunity in the first team though. Crouch, Bellamy, Fowler and even Pongolle are ahead of him. If he does get the opportunity, it would be better for him to move on and play first team football elsewhere.

I think he signed for 3 years initially, so it would seems that he has signed an extenstion somewhere along the line.

But, the quality of service was a lot poorer after Murphy left to join Spurs. Bent is a good player, he has been a success at all levels he has played at, and is certainly good enough to play for a Top 6 team. Not sure, if he is ready for this challenge this year though.

Why don't you want Gerrard to play right wing? He was outstanding there last season. His best season in a red shirt. I think its important that we purchase an alternative option to Gerrard, but I would prefer to see him remain on the right hand side, and allow him to play with the same freedom as last season.

I thought the interesting point of that Daily Mail article was the sell on clause of 25%. If thats true, I would imagine that they would be looking for more than £5 million. They would want to maximise their return, as they would need to find a replacement too.

He is only a youngster and its not beyond the realms of possibility that he is unsettled. It must be fairly common for players of that age. In a couple of years time, he will hopefully have matured as a person and we could see a return, if he is successful. On another note, did Barcelona sell Luis to Atletico Madrid and buy him back the following season, by activating his buy-back clause? Or did I just make that up? Pretty sure the buy-back clause, was the same figure he was sold for.

I think this will be the money that we need to complete the deal. If this is correct, then I think its great business, as we will be able to get a first team ready player for right midfield, and to play full back when necessary. As Alves is only 23, it makes even more sense to let Barragan go.

I think Fabregas is a talented player, but not as good as the press would have us believe, at this point Has the potential to be an outstanding player, given time, but does make some basic errors in games. With experience he should be able to iron these out.

France edged the game and deserved to win. Henry is a hypocritical w*****, in the past he has consistently moaned about other players gamesmanship and foul play. It was a foul and the ref would have given it to France, regardless of his theatrics. Quality player, who has gone done in my estimation after last night and his ungracious behaviour after the Champions League game.
