  3. The amount of first half goals we're getting this season is particularly pleasing. We're coming flying out of the traps at sides, and putting them immediately under pressure.
  4. NNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

  6. His close control is excellent at times, and he's surprisingly strong for such a small guy. Made some of the Newcastle players look like (even bigger) muppets at times when he came on.
  7. Reina 7: Stealing a living, idle b*****d! Reina's exactly what you want in a goalkeeper. He may not have much (or anything at times) to do during a game, but if something comes his way, you know he's going to deal with it. Finnan 7: Did well again defending, never seems to have a bad match, and overlapped very well down the right hand side. Carra 8: Was Owen on the pitch? Sami 8: Was Shearer? Just whp did Newcastle have upfront today? Riise 8: Overlapped well, defended very well, with a superb headed clearence in the first half. Seems at times to be the forgotten man of our back 4, but you always know Riise will give it everything when he pulls on the shirt. Garcia 7: Usual mix of sublime and ridiculous at times, can link up beautifully well and carve teams open, but then fails to control a ball and the move breaks down. Wouldn't have him any other way. Alonso 8: Had so much time and space today to ping balls around, he must have thought Christmas had carried over. Gerrard 9: You sir are a monster. Kewell 9: Was absolutely superb. Denied by a stunning save from Given, worked his flank wonderfully well, and gave Newcastle's right back a torrid time. His crossing was outstanding and so was his workrate. More of that Harry, and everyones a winner. Crouch 8: Lovely header to score his goal (feck off Press Association) people may think he's just a lanky guy, but he powered his way in to meet Kewells cross, and his touch to setup Gerrard was sublime. Morientes 9: Brilliant. Touch, awareness, passing, movement were all top top class. Almost scored a fantastic individual goal right at the start of the game, and didn't stop working from then of. Newcastle couldn't deal with him, and he should have won a penalty off Solano. This is the Morientes we all know and love, and to those who think he should be sold Gerrard is my Man of the Match followed by Morientes with Kewell taking the 3rd spot. We rolled Newcastle over today, with a confidence and pomp that I've not seen for quite a while. The eyes of the nation were watching and waiting for Owen to break all our hearts, and what they saw was a lesson in fluid attacking football.

  9. I think its sad that boos were spent on Owen, which would have been far more effectively delivered at Lee Bowyer.
  10. Sooner or later another team surely has to come in for him. Playing in goal for Newcastle must be the most depressing job in football.
  11. I loved that example of team spirit. Obviously you don't want to see games developing into mass brawls, but the way the lads piled in to defend Alonso did bring a smile to my face. A smile that only widen when Lee c***ing Bowyer got his red card.
  12. The other 33% was spread between Bolton and the clouds.
  13. And they've every right to celebrate, I have no problem with any of the Arsenal players apart from Larsson, because none of them felt it neccessary to run straight over to stand in front of the home fans after scoring his penalty and stand in front of them in celebration. Once they won the penalty shoot out, of course they were going to celebrate, and why not? But Arsenal hadn't even won yet, when Larsson let his ego shine through.
  14. Bolton should sign him, he's their type of player I hear.
  15. That Larsson kid who came on for Arsenal pissed me off with his penalty. Immediately running over to quickly celebrate infront of the home fans. Yes mate, you've scored a penalty, but lets remember you and your teammates have just had to claw back level from a goal down, twice, against a team from League 2. You've just gone through extra time against said team, and you still couldn't beat them. For virtually the entire match, you didn't even look like scoring, whilst Doncaster scythed you apart. These are not facts to be proud of. Therefore celebrating your penalty like you've just completed a hattrick of overhead kicks in the World Cup final, when in truth you've fluked your way out of a humiliating defeat, makes you look like a c***.
  16. There's no justice in football sometimes.
  17. We're not very good, but I'd still fancy our chances. Yeah but his body language is rubbish. Just because I've been keeping him out of the team.
  18. I think it'll be interesting to see what happens with Owen in the Summer, with his £12m get out clause. There is more chance of my 5 a side team making it into Europe then Newcastle, and depending on what we do with Cisse, and what happens with Arsenal and Henry, I think a couple of clubs may well try their luck and tempt young Owen away.
  19. We worked to hard getting first place and ensuring Chelsea got Barca, to see the chavvy b******s fluke their way through again. I hope Barcelona give Mourinho nightmares for months after the games.
