  2. This, +1, :like: etc Ayre we go again?
  3. We need Like/upvote buttons or something similar for posts like these. Good post as usual from Rory.
  4. Saw this on facebook... good solution?
  5. "I’ve never been in negotiations with anyone who has said they don’t want to sign for Liverpool because we’re not big enough or not successful enough." Since I'm a glass half-empty kind of guy... Maybe we should target better and more high-profile players? (or maybe every player in the world would still crawl over broken glass to sign for us etc...)
  6. As long as he scores at a rate of .70 goals/game in the league we would be foolish not to stand by him no matter what he does (well, almost). He's one of two world-class players we have. We need more of his kind and not less.
  7. Madonna? Really? Why not something from Biggie Smalls instead? Using the next four lines starting something like this: That's why we call him Big Papa... (I suck at this lyrics thing so I won't even try) * starting from 1m6s if the link doesn't work
  8. At first I thought you were joking but you appear to be serious. He's playing in one of the worst leagues in Europe (if not the worst) for a team based out of a small island south of Iceland. He's here in Iceland to have fun for one summer with his friend Hermann Hreiðarsson. Nothing more.
  9. Here's a radical idea (or maybe not). Let's say we sign Papadoupodoupodoupoudoupoudolous (in which case we need to start a Notorious B.I.G. "Big Poppa" song btw). IMO we should then line up as follows: Reina Johnson Toure Agger Enrique The Greek Lucas Stevie G Sturridge Suarez Coutinho The front three can interchange at will and we could switch to a AC Milan 4-1-2-1-2 in game without a problem. This would allow GloJo and Enrique to attack more as we'd still have three proper defenders at the back.
  10. Clubs like Man City, Chelsea, PSG and the likes are a cancer on the game and f*ck if we should aspire to be like them.
  11. Yeah, f*ck the balance sheet as long as we get some short-term gain...
  12. Sterling/Ibe are both right-footed and prefer to play on the left cutting in onto their right. Ince is the opposite IIRC. Not saying we should/shouldn't buy him but the two you mentioned shouldn't really have any effect on us buying Ince or not.
  13. There will always be exceptions but as a general rule I think it applies. And it also applies to the youngsters we have that have become too good for the U21's but not good enough to hold down a place in the squad on matchday. Versatile players are always closer to the team but I'd still want to see players like Kelly and Wisdom getting some experience in central defence for 1-2 seasons at another club rather than playing them as fullbacks.
  14. I've long been of the opinion that buying CBs before the age of 22 is generally a waste of money and effort. CBs need to play games to develop and at the top teams you don't get that regular spot unless your a world-class prospect and even then you might only start the easier teams. But after 22 years of age you need to spot the real prospects and pick them up soon enough (preferably before 24-25) so their prize doesn't rise too much. Basically the sweet-spots (cost for value) for buying players are Attackers; 19-22, Midfielders 20-23 and defenders 22-25. If you buy well in these age groups you'll have players that can most of the time slot directly into the team/squad while at the same time not pay ridiculous fees for them. If you buy players before these ages they need to go out on loan to get games (unless they will play regularly enough). If you buy after these ages you will be over-paying for what you get. I need to get FSG on the phone to ask for a grant to study transfer-prize-index vs age to verify this though...
  15. He should go out on loan for 1-2 seasons and have his future here re-evaluated after that.
  16. “Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.” ― Socrates
  17. I have to admit there's no logic in that. I've just gotten so used to being disappointed lately that I always prepare for the worst case scenario. No matter how unlikely it is.
  18. I don't want to celebrate too soon... All this Moyes -> Utd and Hughes -> Everton talk must be a big plot against us to get our hopes up but which will end with Rafa going to Utd and King Kenny to Everton.
  19. I'm starting to like Luiz. http://youtu.be/HaRoi79btgY
  20. A lot of things. Keep players cool and dry probably most important. There's a lot more to the shirts than just looking good.
  21. Was 4231 in the second half. 433 in the first with Lucas holding in midfield.
  22. Was going to try to argue against that report but f*ck it. Kangaroo courts around the world are ashamed to be linked with that f*cking charade.
  23. Yet another "current climate" situation that only applies to us...
