Brendan Rodgers - New Liverpool Manager Barnsey_10 is a t**
Logic replied to Barnesy_10's topic in Liverpool FC
Stats are useless without analysis. But saying stats are useless or irrelevant to football is ridiculous. Every industry on earth uses stats, and more importantly analysis of those stats, to perform better to sell more of whatever product is being produced. Football is no different nor is it more complex than your average high-tech industry. The problem is that the stats we, the public, have access to is too limited to really show what stats (and analytics) can do. -
Iago Blades. Love it!

I only watched a part of that game (30min or so of the first half), but Suso stood out as being better than most on the field. His technique, movement and awareness is very good but he has to start using his right foot more. He's more one-footed than Riise! There are times where he's in a good position to make a pass/shot but he simply can't do it because the ball is set up for his right foot. That means things take a fraction of a second too long because he has to shift the ball over to his left and that fraction of a second might be the difference between really making a mark and just being another decent footballer.

From the charge: "Secondly, it is alleged that Holloway's post-match media comments questioned the integrity of the referee and/or match officials and/or implied that the referee and/or match officials were motivated by bias; and/or brought the game into disrepute." I'm guessing questioning the integrity/bias of the FA isn't a problem. Which perhaps says more than anything that one could write about the whole thing...

Holloway: "It's going to be a long, hard season for me with these people [referees]. I had this with Blackpool. Certain clubs get fouls and others don't." Moyes: “Well the old manager (Sir Alex Ferguson) told me those sort of things happened. I think it's the hardest start for 20 years that Manchester United have had. I hope it's not because Manchester United won the league quite comfortably last year (that) the fixtures have been made much more difficult. I find it hard to believe that's the way the balls came out of the bag, that's for sure." One of these is worthy of an FA charge and the other isn't...

He's supposed to have assurances that he'll have a bigger part to play this season*. Probably won't be sold and anyway we shouldn't come back for players who behaved like he did last summer (agree a deal in principle, then go elsewhere for more money). * which could just be his manager trying to keep him satisfied at the club of course...
-
Does that last part mean we have a plan b (or is it plan J now?) OR that we are ready to lose out on him?
-
Won the league and cup in Portugal the same year as he won the Europa league?

Watched about 30min of the first half of that game. He was very good. The game and football on display on the other hand wasn't...

It might have had an effect on the ref though. Knowing he could wait for the system to signal so he didn't have to guess whether it was in or not. That was a decision who would most likely fall for the home team (especially one of the bigger teams in the league) before goal line technology was introduced.

Off the ball it was, like johngibo says above, a definite 4-2-3-1. On the ball it moved to something more like a Brazilian 4-2-2-2 IMO. Hendo and Coutinho both playing in between the lines but starting in wide:ish positions (though Hendo played a more conservative role). And two mobile forwards upfront.

Swansea (A), Chelsea (H), Liverpool (A), Crystal Palace (H), Man City (A), West Brom (H), Sunderland (A), Southampton (H) and Stoke (H). Can't understand why the FA hasn't gone down this route yet. It would save everyone so much time.

Look at 2) in the post you quoted again.

Problem isn't the amount of imports. The problem is that the players don't get enough competitive games during the crucial years in the development. If more players got competitive games between 18-22 years of age they'd continue to develop. Has nothing to do with nationality. As Chili said above, if you are good enough you are good enough - as proven by Kelly, Sterling, Wisdom and to a lesser extent Ibe.
-
Young Raheem made two goals and as many assists in the league last year (according to soccernet - in 19 starts). Downing made 3 goals and 5 assists in 25 starts. If we give him Downings role in the squad this year we've pretty much replaced Downinho as it is.

I know... Little Logic in that rant of mine. Just pissed off with this s***! Although... I believe you can play a number of over 21's in the u21 league!
-
If that bbc report is true then we should make a statement tomorrow that he is available for 40m+1£ for the remainder of next week. First one to make the offer gets him - except for English clubs and Real Madrid (as they have probably taken part in this charade). And we should especially invite offers from CL clubs from Russia and the Ukraine. If CL is his dream then he can live out that dream while playing in Dagestan or other such places. If no takers then Luis will be a member of our U21 team for the remainder if the season. /rant over

Subbed off to let God onto the pitch. So he can see how we treat our legends.
-
Ok, fair enough. Can't say I've noticed him when watching la liga. Maybe he's "a winner" like Brendan has talked about wanting?
-
How so? From what I've read he seems very mobile and likes to drop wide/deep which sounds like the archetypal Brendan player. Is it the fact that he's 1.88m that makes you say that or something else?
-
We only have one. We need more of his kind (- the biting and alleged racism) We've been too nice on and off the pitch for too long. IMO winning teams need their share of a*****s/nutcases too get the titles.
-
Sounds like it based on this article. I immediately started to like him. We need more nutcases in the team. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/1646824-atletico-madrid-diego-costa-falcaos-successor-and-la-ligas-most-hated-player

Is it too much to ask that people include a source with posts like this? *fight* This is more like it.

That's why we call him big papa... And someone with more talent than me completes the lyrics
