I just heard about this. Can't believe it anymore. Once or twice but 8 or 9 times in a couple of years? Only plays up the ridiculous stereotype people have of the city. The club really need to do something about this, educate the players of the risks and help install high end security in their homes. The idea of having the players put their valuables in a bank is also a good one.
This is ridiculous. No contract should ever be allowed to run down to under 2 years unless the manager no longer wants the player, in which case we should be looking to sell him. Parry should know this all to well thanks to McManaman and Owen.
A few months ago i'd have said the only time Kuyt should be mentioned in the same sentence as the other 3 was when the teams were being read out. All credit to the lad.
Win/Win for us. If we go in for Barry again the price will be a lot cheaper in Jan with 18 months left on his contract and next summer even less, no where near the ridiculous £18m we almost paid. If Rafa insists on selling Xabi then his price will have skyrocketed, much more than the pittance £12m we were offered. Not that i want him to leave mind you. My only worry is the relationship between him and Rafa and signing a new contract but im sure that will all be sorted out if he keeps playing the way he is.
I'm still pinching myself. I can't remember the last time we were top after a few games have been played. 96/97 we had long spells at the top. Paws crossed we can spend the rest of the season there now.
Not really incredible. After what happened to him it would put off any player coming out. A few years ago on Footballers Wives (my girl used to watch it, honest ) there was a storyline where a black gay player came out and he got abuse from everyone inside the club from the chairman down to the players and tea lady.
Get your glasses out and look at the chart closely. It's half a stone. Regardless i stick by my "ridiculous claim". no footballer who is 5"8 should be weighing 12"3 stones. That's what's ridiculous.
Half a stone according to that chart. Whatever way you look at it he's overweight. Not picking on the lad, it's just a shame because Mellor had the same problem. Lots of talent but he was unable to loose weight. Ruddock on the other hand was just fat.
http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/team/squad/dossena/ Height: 5'8 Weight: 12st 3 That is about two stone overweight for his height but he is big boned and has a bit of muscle so im guessing he needs to loose about a stone.
Dossena really needs to loose some weight. There is no excuse for a professional footballer in this day and age and earning as much as he does to be carrying an extra stone.
I think it's based on the falling share prices of his two companies of which he is the majority shareholder. Like we all know that G&H each own 50% of LFC. Again, not saying the report is true but they could easily find out his shareholdings in those companies and then compare the value now to what it was before the crash.
That's not entirely true. These "rich lists" are not only based on liquid assets but take everything into account including his stock portfolio. According to the 2008 Forbes magazine, as of 5 March 2008, he had a net worth of US$23.5 billion. Forbes magazine ranked him as the fifteenth richest person in the world. He was considered to be the second richest person currently living within the United Kingdom in 2008. Therefore if it's true then he's down to his last $3.2 billion. The poor b*****d.
I remember reading an interview with Fernando in the summer and he came across as being so nice and so so humble. For a player of his stature it is almost unheard of. Not even the slightest hint of arrogance. I believe it has a lot to do with his upbringing. He's also fiercely loyal.
