Earl Hafler

Because Carson was going for the ball and didn't get it. It was a foul...not a clear cut one and that's why opinion is split.

If there are any refs on here, answer me this.. Burton keeper kicks ball through to their striker who is barged off the ball by a defender who has no intention of going for the ball but is trying to let the ball run through to Howard. No foul. Burton keeper kicks ball their forward who turns the defender to run after the ball and it's a foul. The inconsistencies in refereeing decisions infuriate me.

Maybe after the one in the match thread ? ( altough it's not something you can search for ! )

That ' stand ' is like a sh***y pavillion. 6 or 7 little holiday chalets in a row. Horrible.

Thanks I wasn't sure as i'm not a confident person.

You were watching the same game as me then Finnan got caught out of position because the passing in midfield was well below the standard we're used to and have come to expect. This meant Carra had to cover and he was slow in doing so and then Hyypia lumbered across to try and help out. Sami tonight decided to go walk about like he used to in the latter days under Houllier. It might be getting boring but he and Carra need a rest. Centre back is possibly the most mentally tiring position to play.

Not helped by poor passing further up the pitch and Kewell being useless when he came onto the right. I thought Finnan was one of the better players in the first half ( although to be honest, that didn't take much doing )

I rate Owen's all round game though. He still gets called a striker, a finisher and people talk about his pace as though that's all he's got - pace and instinct. He's a far more rounded player than that, more the complete forward than he was at 20. I think Portugal 2004 should have put that one to bed. Sinama's first touch is excellent and tonight he showed a better use of the ball than his previous couple of games. I'd love to see him have a run of games playing with Crouch or Morientes and just play off them.

2nd half Xabi was awesome. Went to right back to cover as Hyypia was left up the pitch after a corner, tackled back but remained composed and popped the ball about and scored two Goal Of The Season contenders in one half of football ! Tough call between he and Sinama for MOTM but i think Sinama gets it.

That performance has been coming for the last few games...ever since the Everton game. Won't read too much into Gerrard's ' celebration ' as he's done it a few times before. Some of them look knackered - Kewell seems to have gone ' over the top ' and might need a game out and most of the key players who've been playing most of the games look in need of a rest Hyypia and Carra need a rest but i guess that Rafa doesn't trust the back-up. He switched Reina for Carson but left the centre backs. Carra, Hyypia and Crouch looked ****ed in the last game and a few of us said they needed a week off...i think that was proved today. Just like against Olympiakos, the energy and ability of Sinama changed the game and gave everyone a lift. A half-time b******ing might also have had something to do with it ! At least you can look your mate in the eye now

He makes Cisse look like a £1.4m buy. Touch, control, awareness and today he's added the finishing touch. new contract ?

If the Beeb have any sense, they'll repeat that game tomorrow. Perfect showcase for what the FA Cup is about.

Sorry, i have no recollection of that match

+ 1.

When the keeper went up for the corner i thought " Either he's going to score or we're going to catch them out ". Unreal game. The two Newcastle games, Dortmund, Istanbul, Cardiff...what a fantastic game this is !

Just like Istanbul i think he got the starting line-up wrong. But just like Istanbul he saw what was wrong and put it right. He's just so adaptable it's scary.

There'll be post-mortems to come - that was Sami at his worst and Cisse was playing for himself but after a game like that i think we should just applaud them for getting back into it. Xabi or Sinama as MOTM ? Fo shizzle.

:applause: To Luton, for an inspired, confident performance To Rafa Benitez for one of his half-time specials To all the lads for pulling it out of the bag yet again To Sinama-Pongolle, i love you...you are awesome...you have to stay. But will you please show your appreciation for Xabi Alonso for one of the finest 45 minutes of football you're likely to see

He's awesome. Always has been, always will be.

f*** me backwards. Sinama-Pongolle...i love you.

Can i just say " **** me ! " ? **** me. **** me. What a goal, what a game...can i take much more of this ? Sinama :worship: Xabi Alonso :genius:
