1st: Started of decent enough, then faded with a lot of hopeless balls towards Torres. Last 10-15 minutes was pretty good though. Babel started playing very well, Benny scored a goal which he deserves a lot of credit for. Masch's ball wasn't the easiest as it was very deep close to their keeper and then managing to put that one in the net takes a bit of skill. One thing that constantly bothers me is how we always over hits our through balls. Often when a little nudge is enough to put for instance Torres clear Gerrard, Benayoun, Mascherano and Lucas has persisted on trying to wedge it between the striker and their keeper. Much more difficult to get right and not needed at all.

I take it that Torres will start. In fact I'm sure we will see a near full strength team on Sunday, but hopefully revert to 4231. Be nice to give Babel another start.

Torres Reina Gerrard

I have seen a few very poor referee performances over the years, Webb was not even distantly close enough to that for us to imply tonight's result was in some way down to him. In fact I think it is a little bit ridiculous to bring up a thread about the ref after we have played such a poor game. I thought it was a penalty, but unlike most people around here I could didn't feel it was 100% clear cut.
