They at least tried to attack with more than 2 men for the first 20 mins, more than most teams coming to Anfield does.

Credit to Hull for really making it an exciting game of football. Our home games of late have been pretty crappy entertaining wise. Poor defending for their two goals and 1 or 2 other attacks that they've had as well. From about 25-30 mins onwards though this has been our game and I was just waiting for our 3rd to come before ht. Not so, but I'm sure we'll finish these off in the 2nd. Our CBs have not had their best game. Reina has been ok, but had my heart stop a couple of time. He does that old Pepe sometimes... Dossena has been ok attacking-wise but not more, put one or two good crosses in which is an improvement on earlier in the season. Has been beaten quite easily though by their wide man, for their 2nd goal included. Xabi's done pretty well, Masch likewise (should have been booked though). Irritated by Benny early on when a lot of our attacks ended with him losing the ball or not passing it properly. Albert always does really well, or usually at least. But I can't help feeling he should be involved more. To Benayoun's credit I must say he works hard on putting himself in dangerous situations but his deliveries fail him. A cross over between Riera and Benayoun should make a cracking player in that sense. Kuyt and in particular Gerrard have been very good. edit:Arbeloa is in the Kuyt/Gerrard category as well. Played very well 1st half.

Can't agree there. Think we will put more pressure on Hull's back line with the formation Hassony suggested. Alonso is good enough defensively to cover for Masch against a team like Hull. No underestimation but I feel a risk of the game turning into Fulham/WH/Stoke otherwise.

Think part of the problem is that so many of the players are 2nd string or whatever you like to call it. No real coherence because they don't play regularly and when they do they are surrounded by stronger players. Seen it happen so many times in games like this or league cup etc.
