I have a similar story about Sunderland last time they were in the prem, Reid was manager, this one was true though. The story comes from a guy I used to work with, who was/is a steward at Sunderland, he got talking to a member of the coaching staff and the subject of nunez (I think, small, coloured, south american striker) came up, Peter Reid bought the player on the recommendation of a scout, Reid paid a reasonable fee for him, when the player arrived, he was told accommodation had been arranged for him and as he was single, it wasn't large accommodation, to this the player replied but what about my wife and kids, the player was also notably much shorter than had been expected, and locked a lot older, it was soon realised that the wrong player (with the same name) had been bought.
