  1. "I'm on strike, I will not be going on pre season, I will train alone, I will never play for this club again, I will not hand in a transfer request. Now, can i have my loyalty bonus, please? I need it before I move to Liverpool"
  2. "Add manager", "Ron Atkinson", "Real Madrid"
  3. He'd lose any reaming installments of his signing on fee that are paid over length of contract, loyalty bonus and any wages from the rest of his contract that he'd hilariously be still entitled to if he was sold at this point It's a bit of a piss take that he actions thus far don't constitute a transfer request.
  4. I like Elliott but there's no point in keeping him because the manager doesn't rate him or want to play him.
  5. we tried that before, borrowing from midfield to make up for lack of numbers in defence. It did not go well.
  6. Mad that we likely have £120M or more in the kitty but it's still hard to think of a viable alternative.
  7. Maybe they're just doing him the courtesy of not beheading him like certain other journalists
  8. Surely Odegaard in jeans is worth a last place on it's own?
  9. He gets to keep the PFA now, all of it
  10. Punching a man in a wheelchair is deffo bad PR
  11. Oh yeah, he'd be well within his rights, but of course he'd have ended up the bad guy. Instead, we're all admiring his dignity and thinking what a knob the abuser is.
  12. Whart on through the wind Whart on through the rain For your dreams be tossed and blown Whart on, Whart on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone (he'll need to be VERY good for this to catch on)
  13. Think Semenyo needs to be applauded for every aspect of how he dealt with that - calm in the moment, played brilliantly in the aftermath, and a thoughtful statement afterwards. World would be a better place if were all as graceful as him, thumping someone the exact opposite of what was needed.
  14. Yeah, won't have helped, but the string of lads who turned them down this summer was mostly before that Isak being on £120k or so also - would then assume they offered Sesko et al less than that and they laughed.
  15. Always found Roy Keane's comments on Zidane interesting, that aside from everything else, Zidane was a really hard, physical player, big, strong and aggressive. Made him much harder to play against than some of the slighter players like Iniesta
  16. I think they are just badly set up - we've heard several players gushing about how we approached them with clear vision, knew everything about them, how we'd use them - Newcastle have none of that. They should be an attractive prospect, they are a good team, have a manager who is proven to improve players, they are in the CL, but the people and the plan are not there, and the owners are not arsed.
  17. There's a lot to be said for ignoring pre season. But suggesting transfers can't/don't transform teams is just stupid.
  18. We'd be without Salah for a month of AFCON by then, only Gakpo, Ekitike, Chiesa to pick from
  19. He's not playing for either team Monday, even if sold today. But you'd certainly have the animosity
  20. I don't think it's remotely a. new thing, been going on as long as I can remember
  21. It's Czech for Ostrich, as in "head in the sand"
  22. Not an obvious goalscoring opportunity
  23. Sunderland are better than West Ham.
  24. If we end up pining for a bit of pace and work rate down the left then thing will have gone wrong
