Their "record" stadium/shirt deals combined with all their other sponsors were bringing in only £11m total in 2018. "Far ahead" is an understatement.

100% Was never in doubt, juat hard to prove.

Tks, just reading it elsewhere. So it wasn't just inflated. It was all of it. Is their being in the league just untenable at this point? The total disregard for the competition and the rules is beyond belief.

Where are those from?

the worry now is he misses the whole international break

Isak left Sweden camp with a knock also

One big one with "CHEATS" would suffice.

That appeal is meant to be time limited to about 12 weeks.

It's always the parents

We just need two central defenders then. Araujo might be one of those. And one left back. And one or two right backs.. And maybe another defender.

Not that keen on replacing the lad who is the only one holding the midfield together currently

I'd imaging not being wanted by Liverpool and then going to Villa and immediately being shat on and told you're unwanted there too is a bit of a knock for anyone

I find it hard to believe that we phoned up and said "turn down that £60M lads, we'll deffo buy him on January" and Monaco agreed. Or a similar scenario with the player.

They needed to sell someone, they might just sell that Trump lad

There's some good work in between the massive deals - Jacquet and Araujo seem to be really good signings on the early evidence, and presumably the scouts identified them. We just haven't had a coherent plan as to how to put a squad together, which is an issue at the manager and SD level

Yeah, no point going all out and giving someone external a big contract Besides, the role of our sporting director largely semes to be taking calls from the scouts who identify the players, and then phoning Mike Gordon and asking him to do the negotiations. Gordon's intern could probably cover it/

No way he's doing that in the PL though, the ball would be long gone. It's depressingly rare for these lads to make it, especially when you see City's academy output

Wasn't Firmino's first season under Brendan? Who didn't rate him at all

He's a real "what might have been". If only you could bottle whatever it was that stopped Suarez getting injured and give it to Sturridge and joe Gomez.

who?

Bit off to have a Welcome thread for a lad who's been at the club since 2016

Pires famously took a year to get good. Haevertz took two or three

A load of our lads seemed to need it. It's remarkably effective when he's your coach. The idea that he'll go off on international duty and Klopp will fix him is daft, though. He gets sorted out by iraola or he gets sold. Pressure on him isn't going away Agree some time out of the team might be good - having said that, it would probably draw more spotlight on him.

As stats go, i do like this one. Big Tony is going old school manager - sorting out the defence first then moving onto the attack.

That's it really. Iraola has had an obvious positive effect. Now its a question of how far he can go.
