  1. Opportunity for him too, should get minutes in the coming month
  2. I want to see Big Ron at right back. That gives us the foundations.
  3. they don't really improve our squad if they don't
  4. We don't buy enough players - the crazy inflation rewards clubs that do lots of trading. And doing lots of trading inflates prices, rewarding you further.
  5. There were a lot of factors last season that contributed to him being crap, I think he was isolated in midfield because Slot didn't allow the defence to step forward, the whole team was malfunctioning, and he had generally played too much football. If you take yesterday at face value, he's keen to stay, and he has prety much a fresh start to prove himself. Ipswich was a good start. That said, he's most likely the one of the midfield 3 we decide to move on next summer, purely because he's 27 vs Grav/Dom at 24/25
  6. Watching them play Real off the park while gifting them goals is giving me PTSD
  7. Arsenal's includes the stadiun, as does City and Barca
  8. That's a really good sign. Our forward options are so much better with him in the mix. I have no idea how long he needs from training with a ball to getting minutes, but you'd imagine November might be realistic?
  9. Hitachi are a prized possession for a lot of ladies nowadays
  10. He's contracted to 2028, so if he's flying at xmas, we can offer him a deal then Obviously he can decide to wait it out, but I have no problem with this in isolation. You can't reward a season like his with a new deal.
  11. BBC Gossip reckon Chiesa might look for a move in January if he's not playing. Although they caveat that with "when he returns from injury"
  12. That seems to be his mindset too. Fingers crossed, he was the best midfielder in the league not long ago.
  13. Which is fair enough. He was absolute s***e last season, so it only makes sense that we take some time to see if he can return to form. Would be daft to renew him if his legs are gone. Of course, it makes doing f*** all about midfield int he summer even worse.
  14. Not sure how good that is, seems around the level current clubs are getting, not a leap forward
  15. Yeah, and they completely tore up the entire team and Nuno for him.
  16. Edu is available if we need an experienced sporting director
  17. Yeah, Rodgers and the suits were buying on a "one for us, one for you" basis, which was only ever going to be a disaster. They did manage to sign Firmino though, so they had some nous, even if the system wasn't functioning at the time.
  18. It works best when they are working together as a team. We have recent examples like Brendan where the manager got a lot wrong. Three or four heads agreeing on a signing from different perspectives can only be a good thing. Salah was always the example of a collective decision, where the suits suggested him based on numbers and Klopp agreed. Don't think Hughes and Slot worked together much if at all Brendan had too much ego for it. Klopp was happy to work with it. Diaz was sold when Slot wanted to keep him and not replaced, which was one of Hughes' biggest f***ups - don't think those two were on the same wavelength at all.
  19. I don't want to be a stickler here, but I'd really like this post rewritten in normal English
  20. It didn't have a Frimpong in it, basically
  21. Didn't he quit because he didn't think he could hack it? Edit... he did quit unexpectedly after a couple of months https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/nov/24/liverpool-shocked-by-julian-ward-decision-to-quit-as-sporting-director
  22. Athletic have us (unsurprisingly) expected to promote a sporting director from within. So Ward or Woodfine. https://archive.is/izgq5
