  1. This link from the newspaper here in Adelaide seems to say Romario has played for three clubs in the 12month period too. I know he played for Adelaide after July but am not sure when he was at Miami. http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5006373,00.html Baixinho (Shorty) re-signed for Vasco da Gama after being cleared to play by FIFA but he remained on the bench in this morning's match against America in Rio de Janeiro. FIFA last week cleared Romario despite a regulation that prohibits players signing for more than two clubs in a 12-month period. Last year Romario played for Miami and Adelaide United.
  2. He could be a manc and was laughing behind your back Fergie won't be happy with Becks over there I reckon he would have hoped Utd would get bigger but we have trumped that....
  3. ...surely that isn't true you still haven't grown up have you

  5. This link has all the terminology we need to know. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport3/worldcup2002/...000/2051390.stm
  6. FYDS, it wasn't a dumb question a lot of Jews I went to school with had Anglo Saxon names. Anyhow it has been cleared up now it is passport not religion that matters. Although I am sure Israeli Arabs are OK to travel!! As for the sponsor may be it is M&S, so we can return our signings for a full refund if they misfire!!!
  7. Information just received. Why cant they just say decided by penalties? Or do the kids have a different system? I write to advise that in the 6th Round of the FA Youth Cup Sponsored by E.ON, Liverpool have been drawn away to Sheffield United, with the game being played at Bramall Lane, Sheffield on Thursday, 15th February 2007. Kick-Off will be at 7.00pm. The tie must be completed on the night with extra-time of two fifteen minute periods being played if the scores are level at the end of normal time. In the event of the scores still being level at the conclusion of extra-time then the game will be settled by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the procedure adopted by The International Football Association Board. Admission prices for the game at Bramall Lane are as below:- · Adults - £3.00 · Concessions (Juveniles aged 16 or Under and Senior Citizens) - £1.00 For your information the other Quarter Final (6th Round) ties are:- Swindon Town v Newcastle United or Millwall Arsenal or Bristol City v Cardiff City or Sunderland Manchester United v Birmingham City
  8. I have noticed his lack of tackling this season (more than any other) do you think he lost his bottle with his early seasons injuries? He came back too soon after the first one for sure. I don't go along with him being all bad, if he was we would have conceded more, yes he is not playing well, but he is just doing enough 'coasting' is a word to describe his performances.
  9. Mr Google has agreed that the Bolton story was true, and apparently West Ham as well. I assume this blog is truthful. well rid of DIC I say Link Here A BLIND EYE TO DUBAI Meanwhile FIFA (and other sporting bodies) continually turn a blind eye to boycotts of Israeli sportsmen. Yossi Benayoun, Israel?s captain, was not allowed to travel to Dubai with his British club side, West Ham In February, Tal Ben Haim ? the Israeli national soccer team captain, who plays his club soccer for the English Premiership team Bolton Wanderers ? was banned from joining his Bolton teammates for their training matches in Dubai. FIFA pointedly ignored this. So did Bolton despite the fact that the team claims to be among the leaders of the campaign to ?Kick racism out of football? in the UK. Only last week, another English club, West Ham, left their two Israeli players, Yossi Benayoun and Yaniv Katan, at home when they went to Dubai. FIFA naturally had nothing to say. Ronaldinho donated signed footballs and shirts to Israeli child suicide bomb survivors Whilst Israel is often slandered as an ?apartheid state,? (despite having several Arabs playing in its national team), Dubai has received no criticism for what appears to be a clear ?apartheid? policy. Indeed, were Israel allowed to compete against other Asian countries for a World Cup berth, rather than against the likes of England and France, the relatively strong Israeli team would most probably have been able to qualify for this year?s World Cup.
  10. I am going to ask something dumb here, how do they if you are Jewish or not, My British passport doesn't have my religion on? I think Bolton had a problem with their Israeli player in the summer, Bolton went on a tour of Dubai but he couldn't go, or decided not to go.
  11. Going back a page or two about the racism side. I always thought Dubai was pretty in the middle and not too anti Jewish. However my brother lives in Eilat (South of Israel) and is an Arsenal fan, he told me a week ago he won't wear the new Arsenal shirt as it has Emirates on it and the Emirates is not as unbias as most think. I replied you don't wear the new shirt as you are a tight a*** who won't buy one...to which he replied there is that!! Serioulsy though if you are Jewish the only 2 Arab countries you can easily get into are Egypt and Jordan. In the first post it was mentioned Rafa will get all the money he wants, that is all very well, but I want him to be given sufficient funds whenever he needs it, not just next summer. He wont want too much I'm sure but as long as we can get who we want (within reason) each transfer window I'll be happy. None of this here's 100million and if we don't have the league this season you're out of a job stuff.
  12. Kev's 'Fantasy' 5-a-side team James in goal, Djimi and Babb at the back Cisse and Heskey up front, with Jason Lee giving out the half time pineapples!!!.
  13. Not if he is manager of Real Madrid......
  14. As fans we must 'publicly' at the ground etc stay behind whatever regime is in charge. I hate it when you hear fans singing sack the board etc. We may have misgivings but remember they are doing what they perceive to be the best. Having said that I wanted DIC!

    Jason McAteer

He played for Bolton in 94 and we signed him that summer IIRC.
  16. I have to disagree I think he is ahead of the ball when it was played. But we won so doesn't matter!
  17. I haven't had time to read the 25+ extra pages since I went to bed last night but do you think Gillett really was at the board meeting on Tuesday? If so I think we had decided already to go with him, and DIC have walked before they were dropped?
  18. Do Gillett want 'Razor' Ruddock to come back and be part of the new board? On that note, I'm off.....
  19. If it is true it's a shame the offal didn't break the news.
  20. Have you seen how much the Cromwell Hospital costs to stay in....that is where he was when sick, maybe he had millions before then

  23. As I mentioned before they don't - hence my post. And he shouldn't either IMO.
  24. Good point.
  25. I was never doubting he is a nice fella etc, just that I am disappointed he charges to talk to official supporters clubs and actively emails them looking for business with more than one mention of money in the email. Charging for after dinner speaking etc I agree with. Lets just agree to disagree on this one!
