Also we are not everton or citeh, we have a far stronger squad to continue our good start where as the other two were always going to be more flash in the pans.... Rafa and the whole of the squad all wanted to 'hit the ground running' and it was the most overused phrase in the build up to our season... that is the case with the first 4 games out of the way we have indeed had a good solid start... i don't think anyone on here is gloating or under any illusions that we are going to win the league, i think we are just happy to still be in with a shout after August!!!!

'Ground Running,' well and truly HIT!

Read somewhere that Setanta Sports News has been delayed to later in the year due to the producion company they were going to use backing out, think it was TWI.... anyway the article said that the September launch was not going to happen and that Virigin and Setanta are still commited to it but that they are trying furiosly to get it up before the year is out... I didn't read it online so can't provide a link... Also for anyone who wants to watch it skysports are streaming it live on their website simultaneously from 4.30pm with the draw at 5pm http://www.skysports.com/football/draw/ucl_stream

... We are made from Shanklys best A Team that plays the Liverpool Way and wins the championship in May' It was great to hear a couple of outings of that song yesterday in the Kop, really enjoyed it on the train in Athens as well...

Don't want to sour what was a great all round display from Torres (especially first half)his link up play, some of his passing, the way he attracts three/four defenders were all great to see and really gladdened the heart, plus he scored a goal fitting to win any game... my only concern is that he does have a very very very slight tendency to go down a tad too easy on occasion (amokop ducks while cowering behind a reinforced 2 foot steel thick door as abuse from fellow happy liverpool fans reaches unheard of levels) To be honest my concern with it is Mourinho's little speech and his implication that our number 9 is a diver, with the media the way they are with us it won't be long before all and sundry are showering Torres with 'the diver abuse...' Or am I just being WAY TOO SENSITIVE!!!! He's bloody good isn't he!

....... on TV?

I don't know how true it is but I read somewhere as well that Virgin and Setanta are going to set up their own version of Sky Sports News, with Murdoch playing hardball over the amount of money he wants to air the station on Virgin, it seems as though Virgin and Setanta are joining forces... next round of rights for the premier league in a few years time should be interesting if Virgin and Setanta partner up again...
-
Also, those with Virgin who do not have the XL package can still get setanta package for £8.99 which i thinkis a quid or so cheaper than Sky, not 100% sure

Will the Tevez debacle cause a problem for Mascherano

I think one thing that statement tries to makes clear is it doesn't matter how many conversations the mancs have with Kia, they have to deal direct with WHam, if they own his registration for the next 3 years.... hopefully it will get really messy and drag on until november and he plays for west ham.... here's hoping anyway -
Cheers redfella, we are basically going to start asking as soon as we get to John Lennon at 2am Tuesday morning...., probably hang around the stadium etc during the afternoon, then head to the two favoured squares...... just don't want the lads to get ripped off... a thousand euro's a ticket is a feckin joke, my mates would rather watch it by the pool in the hotel!!
-
right... so was that Omonia or Syngmata then .... anyone know of a good place to hunt for tickets as well??? three out of five of our party are ticketless (like most ppl travelling I know) just wandering if anyone has any suggestions as to where to begin to search on tuesday afternoon/evening? outside the ground or in and around athens itself??? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
-
Have we decided or come to a consensus as to a YNWA meet up in Athens on Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon?? Is it Omonia or Syngmata Square (sp?)
-
Sportops, flightops or whatever they are told me that you can only change a name on a ticket up until Tuesday, as after that they will be printed so can't be re-done in time... thats what she told me last week anyway unless it has changed after that...
-
4 of us flying from Liverpool on tuesday with only two tickets so far...... at silly o clock, poolside in Evia by about 11am, txting and meeting up with Raj in athens when they get in, looking for tickets as soon as we get to airport back on thursday evening at some point.... sportops...
-
If anyone wants to go with us we have a spare package, one of our lads dropped out (didn't have a ticket) but has paid for his flight etc.... will have a spare bed in a triple share in Evia at Hotel Palmariva, from 22nd to 24th, two nights, with breakfast (if you're up) he paid £680 with flight ops.... obviously you can't use the flight but if someone needs a bed for a couple of nights, not expecting the £680 of course, just give him something reasonable...anyone interested can email me on ataggar@minteriors.ca

what I don't understand is all these ticket agencies selling tickets now online in the liverpool end and milan end starting at £800 a ticket, where do they get their tickets from? The Uefa family????????
-
The Independent (paper version) are reporting that a Uefa spokesman has said that more than 20K will be made available to each club with a fans park set up for those without tickets but who have travelled to Athens anyway....

some of our away support is moronic, there was a lot of rascist s**** goin on when we played against the albion last season as well... and in istanbul on our first night there (monday) we were in the irish bar in taksim square (don't recall the name) it had a rooftop terrace, great place... anyway, i was downstairs in the bar and there were about 4/5 lads sitting by the bar and one guy turns around and calls me a paki... when i confronted him his mates apologised and calmed things down... complete knob! these lads must have been mid to late twenties, maybe a tad older so it's not as though they can use the excuse of being old and set in their ways!!.... i was pretty pisshed anyway and was joining in the singing and dancing, waving our shirts around etc.... so beacuse your brown and of asian origin you are a paki, the fact that i am a british asian of indian origin is irrelevant...... it is the one and only time i have ever been racially abused by a fellow red and to be honest i nearly stopped coming to games last season because of it.. i've always prided myself on being accepted simply for being a red, regardless of my colour or religious beliefs and i've been going to games since the mid 80's, i've always found our support on the whole very tolerant but this knob had me thinking if i really wanted anymore to do with following my team around europe....... if i saw or heard it at anfield i would make a note of the seat number and report the bile...
-
i've just got in online but the match isn't there!!!!!!!!!!!!! how can that be?????????????

you're not the only one me and my mate have been on since 8am this morning!
