Anyone think this is as much to do with wages as the amount of money we are willing to spend. As Wayne said a breakthrough had been made on the transfer fee in the last day or so, and we hear that PK has gone this morning with Jova talking to Lille and Anderlecht seemingly wiping off a combined £70 - £80k a week off our wage bill. I would think Downing would be on the £50-£70k a week which the two we've sold/let go have free'd up. Or is it just a coincidence and I have far too much time on my hands.

so many highlights.... Got in on the Monday, Chelsea knock out cocktails, befriended some locals, got pissed, went back to one of their gaffs, fella wakes his mrs up and tells her to get some food made up cuz leeeeeever - pool are here, he was a jeweller, he had made himself a gold and onyx ring for Besiktas winning their league couple of years earlier, he wanted to swap it for my '96' band... still have the ring somewhere. Tuesday night, Taksim, brilliant, outside the Mcdonalds, tree boy!!!! how he survived that fall, i'll never know!!! Met some guy from Australia, sang the 'la bamba' Rafa song ad nauseum, went into some bar, singing, drinking, shirt off, some pissed up so called fellow red calling me a 'paki!!' (i'm asian) the t***!! his mate apologised (don't know if thats really a highlight) up on to the terrace singing 'team of carraghers' crashed into a hotel with some reds from Libya (it literally felt like the whole world was there) back into Taksim, Glazer look a like from Israel, he couldn't understand why so many people wanted to take a picture with him. The day of the game, back to Taksim at lunch time just a sea of red, absolutely incredible sight.... on the buses 'we got the best bus in Istanbul' and Luis Garcia all the way there until we came to a stand still, then the trek over the surface of the moon... after the live band the turkish announcer begging Liverpool fans to get off the stage as it was about to break at any minute..... into the stadium, some fella next to me 10 minutes before kick off absolutely smashed out his face goes head first and rips his head open, blood everywhere, first aiders take him away, he doesn't see a single minute of the game. Double save from Dudek, and the arl fella behind me says 'We've just won the european cup lad.' Back at the airport on Thursday afternoon, some poor fella trying to sell official programmes, until some one got bored of waiting in line and just picked up the boxes and started handing them out to us!! He gave me three!!! Got home Thursday night, up all night watching my recordings of the game, home coming etc etc.... I know we all dislike Richard Keys, but his words bounce around in my head every time I think of that week and that game...' We may never, see the like again.'

Someone on the tour asked about the anny road first, the fella's response was it would be the main first because of the fact they had to go back, down, up and over. Think his point was as the main stand was the largest constrcution project it would be carried out first, as once it was completed it would open up more seating (revenue) while the anny and centenary would be done. Again, like someone said, he could just be passing on gossip. He did say it was likely that the aways would be reduced rather than stopped for a season.
-
Probably as much as people already know, but I took some friends on the stadium and museum tour yesterday and the tour guide, (forget his name, nice chap, tallish, shaved head) pretty much said without saying if you get the drift that Anfield would be redeveloped. He said the Main Stand to be done first as they have to go down, up and over with a 3 tier stand, then the Anny road would be converted into a 3 tier stand and finally the same would happen to the Centenary and the wings would be filled in, in the Kop. He said season ticket holders in the main would be housed in the anny road while it was rebuilt and that aways would be reduced or completely done away with while the work carried on. He made a comment about markings on the floor as you left the managers press area and headed to the changing rooms/tunnel area as these where marking made by surveyors etc. Don't know the guy obviously, i've never had or professed to have any inside info, just passing on what a Liverpool tour guide said on a stadium tour in a question and answer session.

What are the chances of getting tickets out there? I wouldn't qualify through the club

To me it just seems they've bought forward their plans from the summer with players like Carroll and the reported link to Richards and Young. I think the intention was to add Suarez and Adam and maybe one more like an N'zogbia if we could make it happen, but with Torres making it clear he wasn't waiting until the summer they have decided that they won't wait until the summer either.

This just gives the whole place a massive lift, as people have said, the result isn't that important, it's about galvanising the club, making the players feel 10ft tall, going out to win a game rather than a 'coup.' I don't care if we don't win (have a feeling we'll get a draw and do em at ours) it's about the fact that so called pundits like Merson will blame the players for not playing for Roy, no marks like Gray and Keys tut tutting at how the fans never gave him a chance. It's about the red tops and the so called intellectual broad sheets completely glossing over the last six months so as not to tarnish their mates record, to get him back in a job at West Ham or where ever as soon as possible. Because of all those things, it makes this the RIGHT DECISION! If Merson, Keys, Gray, Winter, Barclay and any other of those c**** agreed with what we were doing I would be seriously worried! I never want them on OUR side! We have been dormant for too long. I think someone in an earlier thread said that not since the days before Souness has the whole club been united in it's direction. Rafa united us as a fan base for a while but he couldn't get those two pricks on board. But now, we are all on the same page, supporters, owners, manager, players and the red half of the city (even though i'm a brummie).... and when Liverpool all pull in the same direction we become an irresistible (sp?) force. I'm not expecting miracles, no 10 game winning streaks, just forceful, attacking football with the team and the fans as one going out to try and win every game and to see where it takes us. He will stabilise us, get us pulling in the right direction, maybe a semi final or even a trip to Dublin and then let the new young coach they want come in and take over a good healthy club. The first 'interview' with Sky summed up the man, first the 'I've just got off the plane and I'm gonna have some kip' followed by the brilliant 'there will be plenty of time for you and the media to get your answers, in a proper press conference, not like this' and the sky fella skulked away muttering 'thanks.' Two words..................... Unfinished Business.

How many hours behind are Boston? 4/5? Surely one of them can get up early and sack the c***!
-
The fact that we all stand when we play european games or certain teams in the league when in the Kop now is surely more of a risk than a designated standing area. Agree with SD though that maybe we can wait until after the inquiry publishes its findings.

Looked at youtube, anyone got a video of the YNWA before the game?

Great retort, whose crying? Just stating my side, simply that we aren't the wrongheads hanging on his every word simpletons you are making out. Pointless argument, if this sale goes through and I start attending games again would be more than happy to discuss it with you over a pint.... first ones on you
-
I was one of those who said 'Fyds???' im not a poor fecker, i'm not hanging on his every word, i understand that Fyds is only offering his own opinion and not something based on facts or on anything he may know. From my posts to how long ive been a member of the board ratio you can see Im more of a lurker, and to be honest the main reason is because of things like this. Anyway, i'll get back in my box and just continue lurking like the last 6 years.

BBC say TRO lifted but it's not to help Henry, it's to help Mill pay off the debt??? Fyds????
-
This. It's all about seeing if they will put is into administration. Even in the high court it was said he had filed papers that he had no issue with RBS taking charge of its security if a deal could not be done by Friday... sooooo RBS, how big are your balls??? He knows he ain't gonna get anything out of it so he basically wants NESV to buy a club in the relegation zone on a minus points total to screw em and in turn screw RBS because NESV will probably look to renegotiate the deal and want to pay less for us in that state. Odious cretin!
-
Guardian Blog again... seems as though this is down to RBS and NESV showing some balls now... RBS more so because their deadline is looming, basically Hicks wants us to be in administration so that when NESV (or if) they buy us we will have a 9 pt deduction... hence the wording of LFC statement of 'damaging' 12.45am: Owen Gibson has also been tweeting about the TRO: "why #LFC may take TRO seriously: US biz interests-contempt risk; hicks met broughton there; kop investments based in dallas; er, that's it." Elsewhere the highly informative Tariq Panja tweets: "RBS in tight spot. Argued in court for a quick judgment bcos debt needs to be repaid on Fri. But this TRO won't be lifted then. What to do?" 12.40am: The Liverpool board meeting has now ended. Is this square one?
-
Guardian Blog 12.38am: Owen Gibson has emailed me regarding the confusing issue over the 25 October hearing. "My sense is that Liverpool can apply to the judge to have it thrown out before then but this will buy Hicks and Gillett at least a couple more days - crucially, it will probably take them past RBS's deadline of October 15 and through the weekend." Hopefully that clears it up for everybody

Anybody watching the sky feed answer if they are still in the offices of Slaughter & May? is fat head still waiting outside, or have they left. They said earlier that cars had turned up but then switched the engines off, are said cars still there.
-
Guardian Blog 11.48pm: It seems that NESV and RBS are respecting the TRO in order to protect their investments in the US. I guess its understandable on their part to ensure they cross their t's and dot their i's.... obviously 'The English Directors' couldn't give a flying f***
