This season and the apparent lack of funds for Rafa
Dule replied to Shanklyanfield's topic in Liverpool FC
MON spent more on Young and Milner if i remember correctly. Milner = 12m Young = 12m total = 24m Riera = 7m Babel = 11m total = 18m. So thats a 6m difference in spending, you may say its not much, but its the difference that maybe Rafa keeps refering too. Daniel Alves anyone? we were offering them 10m, they wanted 12m. The list can go on and on. -
The club is not worth no where near 400m considering we did not finish in the champions league, and our squad value is about HALF of what it was at the end of last year. They are having a laugh if they think they will get even 500m, let alone 800m

All these rumors may explain his absolutely s*** year of football. He looked like one of the top 3 players in the world last year, his been playing like a player from Leeds this year. Tonight he was absolute crap, he doesnt even chase for the ball as much as he used to. Mind you, still love him.
-
Jovanovic is a great player, think of him as a quicker version of Riera. However he scores goals too, he could easily chip in 10 goals for the year from the wing. The only thing about Jovanovic, is his mentality. He is a bit of a nutter and could easily fall out with Rafa if he does not play.

Me being Serbian, i can tell you that Kolarov would be a brilliant signing. His dead ball and crosses are absolutely brilliant. He has decent pace, good size for a defender, and can actually defend, unlike our current full backs. I would think he would cost around 12-15m though.
-
Well at least he didn't go on Twitter i guess

I'm at work and did not get to watch the game, How did Babel go? I was walking out the door for work when he scored.
-
After my bit of news about Jovanovic signing, i now have a little more faith in the news my father reads in serbia, and transfer gossip he is giving to me. Anyway, Krasic has stated that he would like to go to liverpool, however they are not offering him as much money as other clubs are. Shame, he could of been our Nedved.

God, tell us now, i cant bear it any longer!!

I dont Rafa to be replaced by anybody, and you guys are wrong about Hiddink, he is world class.
-
Wow, this guy would be great to sign... P.S its a clip of what Babel could do when he had some bottle.

Jovanovic will be a class addition, whoever thinks he will be Voronin v.2.0 are going to be in for a shock. This quote alone gives him the right to join our club Just over a year ago he was linked with Merseyside rivals Everton, as well as Aston Villa, but rejected a move to Goodison Park out of hand. "Everton aren't a big club. That club I have turned down already," he told Serbian website Blic online at the time

Jovanovic wont work as hard as Kuyt, more like Reira. Thing is he is quicker than Riera, and no scared to run with the ball. I dont want to make him out as a super star, or that he is quicker than Rommedahl or something stupid like that. He will be a great option on the wing or up front because he does score goals from either positions.

I live in Australia , but my background is Serbian, so i have been following their qualifying because i had heard they had a decent team this time around. He can play as either a striker up front on his own, or as a left winger. He can pretty much shoot with both feet, and he is a pretty hard worker which is strange being that he is Serbian. He would honestly be a good signing for us, and is probably Serbia's best and most in form player at the moment. Him and Krasic have been the reason why Serbia has qualified out of the group so well, and will definantly be a dark horse in the world cup. My dad said that he has agreed in principle, but no clarification will be made to the media just yet, so disregard all this BS about Birmingham. Now Krasic on the other hand, now that is going to be some player, and the comparisons to him and Nedved go beyond the hair, believe me, he would be the perfect signing for the right hand side for us.
-
I don't have any links, but my father has told me that Jovanovic has agreed in principle to join Liverpool, but it wont be announced to media or anyone else just yet. This is what he has read in the Serbian news papers.

Ill tell you what guys, for a 1.5m buy he has been a pretty bloody decent squad player. There have been games where i have just held my head and thought "this guy cannot possible be a future, he is not a footballer when he cannot shoot sometimes and pass the ball 2 metres." and then he will show a flash, a glimmer like tonight's performance where you think to yourself that he could possibly be a starter in 2-3-4 years time. He definitely needs to work on his strength, but also his balance when he is shooting. He just seems to look dyslexic sometimes when he shoots. Also as mentioned above, he needs to work on his headers, how to position himself to challenge for a header and how to use his strength, what he has of it. The main thing though that impresses me is that he doesnt hide. And even when he makes a mistake he still doesn't hide, but seems to want the ball more. He is always in a position to receive a pass, and definitely has instincts of a striker because more often than not he is in the right position to score, just waiting for the right ball.

He was decent tonight, but it still worrys me how he goes missing in the game, you almost forget he is playing at times. I also worried in the second half that the team was almost carrying him, and running for him. I just hope its a matter of fitness, and nothing to with his actual work rate.
-
Degen was decent today, work very very hard for the team. Skrtel probably had his best game of the season tonight, lets hope he has finally got his head straight.
-
I dont mind Jones, he is still rough around the edges, but perhaps a move could iron some of those wrinkles out? Or is 25 to old an age to take away bad habbits?
-
There is only 1 manager that i would consider swapping for Rafa, and that is if i really ever wanted Rafa out, that man would be Guus Hiddink.
-
Ive had just about enough of this s***. We surely should of known that this season was just going to get worse and worse. The worst thing that could possibly happen has not happened yet, and that is Rafa leaving, lets just hope its not going to happen.
