RIP Kev. So Sad. Remember seeing his name as a new and unknown signing on the same day as we were beaten by Arsenal in the FA Cup Final - which devastated me. Then the opening day of next season, he makes his debut and cores after about 10 minutes and is an immediate favourite, all energy and excitement. Deserves better Legend status than he enjoys because if the uptick when he left, probably, but we should never forget his contributions to that first European Cup win in Rome (including St Etienne). There is an argument that his signing that day was the point at which the modern, to-be dominant Liverpool was created. (See also - the goal against Shilton in the 74 FA Cup semi, the outrageous performance against Newcastle in the final, both UEFA Cup wins - 73 and 76 (4 goal, 1 assist in those matches)

I think that face is entitled to look quite smug now. Konsa's lame crosses made his point, but I can guarantee that if Trent had been the defender 1 metre behind an unmarked Martinez as that cross came in, he would have been crucified

Whilst no longer something I can get worked up about, there was something poignant in England's final desperate acts being their Right Back trying and failing to put in an even half decent cross with 2 attempts, loads of space and a box full of big lads Of course his job was primarily to defend, which is why he had just been admiring one of Europe's top goalscorers taking a free header.

And the Ref probably called that right, although you could ask what defender in the front of goal wouldn't deliberately get in the way of a ball coming in, especially as it wasn't deflected on to him

Turns out he is actually that bang average lad at Utd who couldn't get a start, although in his head he is playing like the Serie A Footballer of the Year.
