  1. Would have been nice if he'd got the two more caps he needed to take the record of most capped player from Beckham.
  2. Metro saying we've accepted 63m
  3. Probably I'm just being a conspiracy nut. It just seems that having knocked out England, he's not going to popular here, even if the biting incident hadn't happened. If however, you can enjoy the short term publicity boost, without having to pay for someone who is going to unpopular in the medium term, then they may well consider that a win-win...
  4. On the fact that they signed him up just before the world cup, so after he'd bitten two players previously. If they were so morally repugnated by the act of a player biting another, then they would never have signed up him in the first place. However, with a lot of hard core Ingerlund fans (a demographic that I would suggest is a big part of 888's target market) he will be the person who ended England's WC hopes. That cannot be good publicity. As far as the biting goes, that adds notoriety, nothing wrong with that...
  5. Simple fact is, 888.com are getting rid of him because of him knocking England out of the WC, the Chiellini bite was a good excuse for them to terminate the contract without having to pay compensation. After all, he'd already taken two bites even before 888.com signed him up!
  6. I saw that, and wondered how on earth going to United would further his career... Glad to hear it's an old interview, and not Luis having second thoughts!
  7. No he isn't, he's a boyhood red! Source: His aunty, she used to work with me!
  8. Luis Garcia - loved that little fecker
  9. See, this is what I would do if I was in charge. Bring back Rafa!!!

Bit in the paper about Charlie Adams saying that JonJo wants to play for Scotland.... Not true. He has made no decision, and apparently is focusing on doing whatever is necessary to get back to Liverpool and into the first team. It is true that Charlie Adams is trying to persuade him to commit to Scotland, and he did meet with the SFA.

    Shelvey

Jonjo's Aunty had a read of this thread, and she is chuffed to bits about all the nice things that were being said about him! She did ask me to point that in the NexGen match he wasn't well, which would explain his poor performance in that game. He should be starting tonight in the friendly against Israel.
  12. Jonjo will be starting tonight
  13. Best of luck Didi! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14033079.stm
  14. he's had alopecia snce he was six. Must have been teased like hell at school
  15. He said it in the press conference - but it was also what Kenny told JJ personally just prior to sending him on! If it had been RFH, he would told him that he wanted to be the new Konchesky...
  16. She's actually a big Liverpool fan, and we had quite an interesting conversation about RFH and the GG&TH years... She was telling me that she was with her friends in the players lounge for the Wigan game, and had told them to 'be cool' but then Stevie G walked in and they all became dizzy schoolgirls!
  17. I was actually sat next to JJs aunty at work a couple of days ago! She told me that when KK asked him to play left back, he said that we wanted to see if he was like Roberto Carlos! Apparently he doesn't have anything bad to say about RFH, but his Aunty says that's because he's such a nice boy!
  18. The fact that 13 of the 20 players have identical speeds down to the last 100th of an mph, suggests that the list is a load of b******s. I'm surprised that a newspaper would actually even bother to print it, but then again, it is the Daily Mail...
  19. Agree with this - the one thing that stood out for me from that game was the balls that Lucas was pinging forward - they were consistently of a high quality.
  20. Aargh, let's all slit our wrists, we only managed a draw away from home in Europe!! Fricking drama queens. Those of you questioning Dalglish are stupid idiots who deserve Hodgson. As the more rational posters have already pointed out, we were without our Gerrard, Agger and £55 million worth of strikers, so it's hardly surprising that we were going to struggle to score goals. Our defence kept a clean sheet, and Pepe didn't really have that much to do. I'm still buzzing of the fact that Hodgson is gone, so you feckers stop trying to spoil my mood!
  21. So he was in poor form last season despite getting 18 goals in 22 games? That's b******s and you know it. This season, everyone (including me) was banging on about Hodgson not playing the midfield anywhere near Torres, resulting in not only a lack of goals for Torres, but the team as a whole. Since we've got a manager in wh knows what he's doing, he's got 3 in 4. He may have dumped on us, but the truth remains that he's still one of the best strikers in the world, and £50 million for him is a bargain for Chelsea.
  22. As much as I hate him for leaving, to say that he has been in poor form for two years is wrong. Last season he had 18 goals in 22 league games - his highest ever goal/games ratio. We can tell ourselves that Chelsea have got themselves a dud on the decline, but unfortunately they haven't. As an individual, he has shown a total lack of class, but as a player he is still phenomenal. b*****d.

  24. I'm sure Stevie G has had wads of cash waved under his nose over the years, but he is still here... Yes, he's had his dalliances with Chelsea, but at the end of the day, he has spent his entire career with us - and for that he has my respect.
  25. I can just imagine the Lev reading that and his chest puffing out in pride!
