Didn't see the game you refer to, but remember the other details about him finishing his BSc and being capped before being a full pro. As we're pretty much contemporaries, the first game I can clearlyremember attending was the Liverpool v Arsenal League game at Anfield, we won, a dog ran on the pitch (fielded by Bob Paisley i think) and it was the first ever MOTD, August, 1964 - we won. I've been told I went to as many as four or fibe games the previous season but i can't recall them - well, maybe one in what would have been about February, when it snowed like mad and I remember Cally scoring and Gerry Byrne doing a tackle that saw him slide for about 20 yards like a snow plough. Another thread for another day would be who can remember who's debut - Emlyn Hughes, Ray Clemence, Tony Hateley, Alun Evans, Kevin Keegan, Ray kennedy, are all ones I remember (not all were good) I remember Jocky had a terrible first game.
