I am not the worlds foremost expert on business matters, but why would an 'investment' company with billions buy a business and then go to a third party for loans to fund a new staduim. I am right in thinking that the tax bill a company pays is worked out across ALL the companies it owns ? Therefore if Liverpool are run at a loss, for example, they could offset some of the tax they pay againg Travelodge etc Longer term, when the EU eventually force the premier league clubs to negotiate TV deals on their own then the amount of money the likes of Utd and Liverpool will generarate from worldwide individual TV deals will make £450 million and even Glazers £850 million look like small change. Dont think this is a big issue this season, when sissoko comes back gerrard will move back out to the right Why ? Because we do not have a right winger good enough. I agree with the posters who have pointed out that gerrards form has improved, I also agree that is not just because he is in the middle, it is just a general improvement Next season will be interesting, with the new owners money I expect us to spend big on a Striker and maybe two wingers. The question of who plays in central midield will then be an interesting one

Disagree about Alves IF he sticks to this system, with a narrow midfield with essien, ballack, lampard and mackele then attacking full backs are essential, thats why they bought Cole I think Alves will be their number 1 target and I also think they will go in with a massive bid in January to stop Liverpool entering the fray next summer

Yes, I dont think bellamy will be good enough if I am being honest, not as the first choice. Owen used to do what he did to wigan last week every few weeks, we took owen for granted, its only when I watch bellamy I realise how much. Yes he had his faults but he consistently turned in performances like bellamys at Wigan. Bellamy is great when it all clicks but it does not all click enough. I think we need a top, top striker with pace to play with Kuyt if we are going to challenge for the league. I aslo agree that we need a ball carrying winger, kewell was great last season I agree, I would love to think that he can come back now with all his injury problems finally sorted and be the player we all hoped he would be. For me - Alves is going to be Chelsea's top transfer target this summer with their need for a right back and that will be the first test of the new Chelsea V Liverpool transfer struggle, lets see if we really will compete with them, I dont think we will to be honest and they will pay silly money (£25 million) for him

Sissoko is a far better player The are many reason Utd are doing so well this season is a) Vidic - good player, and has formed a great partnership with ferdinand b) Scholes - f'ckin brilliant little player, the only decent centre midfielder they have got c) Ferguson - He is still a brilliant manager, even though we all hate teh c*** but mainly Giggs, Ronaldo, Saha and Rooney These four have been brilliant and are the best attacking unit (wingers and two forwards) in the premiership by a country mile. We are stronger than Utd at the back and in central midfield but they are miles ahead of us out wide and up front. We need two players to compete for the league A world class striker with pace- I would test Arsenal for Henry, but realistically we are probably looking at villa or torres and a world class left winger - I would try for robben from Chelsea who seems to have fallen out of favour but realisticly god knows, the harry kewell of 5 years ago would be perfect Play gerrard wide right and add these two players and then we are a better team that Utd, untill we buy a couple of the very best in the world, we are not going to get there. Oh, and add Alves at right back so we can play gerrard in the middle if needed and we have the complete squad. Striker, Left winger and Alves
