Couldnt tell you to be honest, I think they have only played about three games together, no time at all to build up an understanding I may take a lot of stick for this, but the suggestion that alonso is untouchable to me is wrong. I think if you gave gerrard and momo a few months together we would have the best central midfield in the league Obviously, this is hugely dependent on us having a top draw wide right midfielder, while we have pennant there is no argument, gerrard has to play right. But when/if this winger arrives then it is Alonso I would leave out
-
You dont need to sit in front of the back four, Alonso is 'meant' to sit in front of the back four and every time we play a decent team without momo in there we get cut to bits. Everyone says Alonso has to be in to sit in front of the defence, what f'ckin good did that do on Sat ? Viera did not sit in front of the back four did he ? Momo plays in exactly the same way Viera does, he presses the oppositions midfielders in posession and wins the ball back. He could be a little more disciplined if needed, and press closer to his own defence instead of so high up the pitch if he was playing with gerrard Also gerrard has added a huge amount of discipline to his game since momo has been out, I think he is currently carrying an injury because he hardly ran on Saturday Momo and gerrard for me if/when we get a proper winger with someone like maschereno etc as backup and in case we need to play gerrard wide right due to injury etc In what way would we be lost exactly ?
-
Momo stops the other teams playing and is the most mobile midfielder I have ever seen. Gerrard is a world class desructive attacking midifeilder who creates AND scores goal Alonso switches the ball from side to side and links up play Sorry Mondavi, but first name on the teamsheet my backside. Gerrard and Sissoko for me all the time, with sissoko told to protect the defence

Errrr I suggest you go and watch a re-run of Saturdays game and then come back and discuss that outrageous statement you have just made
-
Thank god he is back, praise the lord and hallelujah !!!! F'ck me we need him against Barcelona or we will be cut to ribbons
-
I agree with you this season However if we got a really top winger and Athletico Madrid offered silly money for Alonso then I would be tempted..... Seriously 2 into 3 doesnt go. I wouldnt play gerrard wide right if we have a proper winger who we can rely on, ask me who I would drop out of the three in the middle and I would say Alonso. It was alsonso who was meant to be holding on Saturday

You dont see the amount of running off the ball a player does on TV, during the game I think gerrard was walking or trotting around for about 75 minutes, he also pulled out of a couple of tackles. Is he carrying an injury and having to play because we dont have any more central midfielders ? And as alonso was meant to be our holding midfielder, how do we explain the huge gaps every time Arsenal broke on us. Alonso and gerrard can not play together against top class opposition and If/when we finally get a world class right winger next season something will have to give, xabi needs to pull his socks up and have a good second half of the season. Get on your knees and pray for the return of Momo before the barcelona game http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...070108-0903.htm

Dudek had a mare, he way to far off his line for the first goal and the for the last two goals he was diabolical Amazed we played him in this game to be frank
-
A lot of what ifs here but imagine if kewell can finally get himself fit and get back to what he was a few years ago and this argentinian kid fufills his potential We go away to the big games next season with Gerrard Mascherano Sissoko Alonso Kewell in midfield Bit tasty that isnt it

Bascombe in todays echo says it should be done over the weekend, doesnt even mention fifa strangely
-
Bascombe reckons its as good as done, initially on loan till end of the season and will allow us cover for stevie and xabi gerrard for the right again ?
-
That can be counter balanced by the huge rise in ticket prices for football during the 90's. Current ticket prices are ridiculous, especially for cup finals

Ah - Good old harry harris.... Chelsea's unofficial press officer

Do you know what our average attendances where in the 80's ? 1980-81 39,666 - European Cup and League cup winners 1981-82 35,387 - Champions and League cup winners 1982-83 35,677 - Champions and League cup winners 1983-84 35,793 - Champions, European cup and League cup winners 1984-85 38,056 - Won nothing 1985-86 33,928 - Champions and FA Cup winners 1986-87 35,538 - Won nothingh 1987-88 42,267 - Champions 1988-89 38,713 - FA cup winners 1989-90 35,538 - Chamopions dont give me all this b'ollocks about what it was like in the old days etc, at least people now get off their backsides and go week in week out to watch a team that has not won the league for 16 years. you cant even argue about the financial hardships a lot went through in the 80's, it was £3 a match then, its £35 now, even given the harsh economic conditions of the 80's the huge increase in ticket prices for modern games more than outweighs these effects

The reason the atmosphere is sh't is 1) The average age has gone up by about 30 years and the ground is full of arl miserable b'stards who cling to their season ticket because they know they would have no chance to getting to any games if they gave it up which leads on to 2) Everyone is scattered all over the ground and you cant sit next to your mates most of the time, this should be resolved when we build a new ground. The reason we are so loud away from home is you are sat with your mates and finally 3) There is no local kids in there anymore, the people who used to start all the songs and generate all the buzz when barnes was dancing down the wing when we all stood the kop Reclaim the Kop my ar'se, This whole 'campaign' is a load of arrogant sh'te. Chelsea in last seasons champions league was better than any atmosphere anfield has ever generated in my life time. Some one has posted a stupid poem like rant on RAOTL like they always do and everyone has got on it and now even the official site and running with it. Telling people what they can and cant do on the kop, its f'ckin laughable. Its the season ticket holders who have been sat in the same seat for the last 16 years who are to blame for teh sh't atmosphere, not the few thousands lucky sods who get a look in every week with the left over tickets Hurry up and build the new f'ckin ground for god sake. The new ground will rectifty a lot of the problems with the atmosphere but the same people starting this RTK thing will moan when we move grounds. You support liverpool by putting your hand in your pocket, buying a ticket and goin the game, whether you be from huyton or helsinki and whether you wear a lacoste tracky or a f'ckin jester hat.

Thank f'ck you are not the Liverpool manager Momo 'Bergkamp' Sissoko
-
Someone mentioned to me in work this morning that there is something in the daily mail about it today and apparently the bookmakers have now opened up a book on him signing for Liverpool

Gerrard has returned to form, as has alonso, carragher, bellamy and reina. This is not because gerrard is playing in the middle. The only weakness in the whole team is the wide players. When kewell and sissoko return we will be able to address these two weaknesses because gerrard and kewell can play wide. Maybe next season when/if we buy a top class right winger then the debate is there to have, but I dont see any issue this season. Gerarrd will have to play wide right So how do you explain the league form for the last 3/4 of last season then when the midfield of Gerrard Sissoko Alonso and Kewell played regulary and gerrard ended up scoring 23 times and getting player of the year ? Your talkin sh'te, with respect.
-
Dont think he has played with any of the current Liverpool lads has he ? Raul was very good friends with Morientes and that explained him being here last year, it seems strange that villa would fly over and spend new yeare eve in Liverpool however if it wasnt to visit friends so he must be mates with one of our spanish lads
-
Link ? I didnt see that on icliverpool, where is it ?
