  1. Been looking but have not been able to afford them, we can afford them now so I am hoping things may change this summer
  2. We need a world class striker with pace up front, we also need a new left back and two proper wingers, if you cant get two, get one, for the left as gerrard will probably play on the right a lot next season with sissoko and mascherano there

    Kuyt

I like Kuyt, he is a good player. He will be brilliant playing with a proper world class striker with pace who can take the burden of goalscoring off him. What I would give for Owen of 4 or 5 years ago in this team now

  11. The Hillsborough memorial and eternal flame incorporated into the new ground, thats it. Nothing else, that is enough
  12. The two clubs would sell the rights to screen their own matches, all of them, to their own fans, both at home and abroad. The clubs would pay the likes of Sky or virgin media to host their channels, and pay foreign TV companies like Fox etc to host their channel internationally For example Liverpool play West Ham Liverpool TV would show it live to its subscribers, and West Ham TV would show it live to its subscribers. The highlights may also be sold off to the likes of the BBC for more money, but they would have to do individual deals with each club, for example £1 million for the highlights to all Utd games, and £200,000 for the highlights to all Spurs games etc EDIT: The clubs individual websites would also show games to subscribers, as per the post above
  13. Glazer did not pay £800 million for Utd, who make at most £34 million a year in profit and they are near as damm it a perfect financial model for a football club without one eye on the future He knew that if/when Utd ever get the rights to sell their own TV rights, then the turnover of that club will increase dramatically, £100 million a season extra is not an unreasonable suggestion according to an article I was reading just before xmas
  14. It will EU are pushing very hard for it, in their eyes the collective barganing that the premiership clubs currently use is in breach of EU competition rules And the big clubs want it, Utd and Liverpool could make silly money from individual TV deals, this is the main reason the investors are in. I think there will be one more collective TV deal at the very most and when the premier league clubs are allowed to negotiate on their own then Utd and Liverpool will streak away financially with deals that will dwarf the rest of the leagues, especially when you add worldwide rights etc
  15. When clubs are eventually free to negotiate their own TV contracts, both in the UK and worldwide the likes of Utd and Liverpool will earn massive amounts of money. This is what all these new investors have their eyes on
  16. I dont think it will be neccessary to join the list now to be honest, I am hopefull everyone who wants a season ticket will get one in the new ground but you never now, we might win the league or something before the ground opens and it goes ballistic with everyone wanting season tickets
  17. Corporates will be catered for with the huge increase in boxes, as well as a lot more resteraunt/bar space etc There will be boxes on both sides of the new ground, with custom built resteraunts etc attached to each side Extra seats will all go to season tickets IMO
  18. I hope they use the 15,000 extra seats to put the waiting list to bed once and for all and sell all the extra seats as season tickets There must be loads of people on that list who either dont want a ticket anymore or have moved addresses Big thing for me is the fact that now, everyone who wants a season ticket should be able to have one. Thats what I have always wanted The atmosphere will improve as well as they should allow you to all sit together when you buy new season tickets in the ground It is Club shop spend is considerably less than a guaranteed £700 per year from 15,000 people (£10.5 million a year), they wont risk having 20,000 empty seats for midweek league games against sh'te teams for club shop spending The extra seats will all go to season ticket holders IMO, dont forget as well as the 61,000 seats the new ground will also have a huge increase in corporate space and boxes
  19. He was asked by a bloke from sky about the level of debt that would be saddled on the club, the guy used the Glazer takeover of Utd as an example. He responded by saying there would be no debt assigned to the club, ie him and hicks where paying for the club outright. They maybe borrowing in america against their assets, but that borrowing would be against them and not Liverpool FC
  20. He has also just made as much money from the football boom of the last 20 years than anyone apart from Martin Edwards. The pair of them made about £80 million profit each, by far the biggest benefactors of the boom in the game Good on him, totally agree but he has made a f'ckin fortune out of this as well like hasnt he
  21. I thought Hicks came across as the reserved one, gillet was very confident I loved the no debt bit, we wont be like Utd with the money to buy the club borrowed against the clubs name I think its a great little deal, the TV contracts are getting better and better and if they market us properly off the pitch there is huge potential for growth They will understand that for the next three years they will have to invest heavily and the long term is where they will see the benefits when the new staduim etc is compete and we finally get our act together off the pitch
  22. Interesting this from Moores Where can George Gillett and Tom Hicks take this football club? Hopefully to a place I was never able to manage ? Premiership champions! That was the only one I never won as Chairman and that bugs me a bit. They can make us the best in England and make us able to compete and do better than Chelsea and Man United. We've got an exceptional manager and he will have the funds to take the club forward and bring in world class players.
  23. Aye I totally agree Make all the officials, players and fans queue to get booted in the b******s 500 times each as well
  24. It is a lot easier to defend with a 4-4-2 than a 5-3-2 strangely When you play 4-4-2 it is easy to sit with two banks of four and this is extremely hard to break down Playing 5-3-2 often turns into 3-5-2 and leaves you exposed in wide positions, something barcelona would expose with the likes of rohnaldhino drifting wide all the time
